If you put the short extension on your socket, then you can just use it to spin the bolt off once it is loose. Thank you for the video. I hit 600 miles this past Sunday and need to change my oil for the first time.
Hi, I have also have a yeah same model. And I use Motul V300 10w-40 "motorcycle oil" and one thing I notice t'that u only drain from the oil filter cup. not in the drain plug??? There is a drain plug in the side
Hi. Cool on the oil. Will have to look into that brand. Yeah I drain from the bottom like manual says. There’s a dip stick on the side. Hope that helps. Ride safe.
Hello, how are you my friend? I would like to thank you very much for sharing your video clips. They are very special. I liked very much the colors, their diversity, and the view. I wish you success.💋💋💋💋💋💋👍👍👍👋👋👋🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I am about to purchase my first scooter, a Kymco X-Town 300i. I've rode motorcycles since 1974, that tells you I'm OLD. My wife and I have rode well over 300,000 miles on motorcycles. But my wife has battled cancer eight times, had 12 surgeries in ten years, maxed out on chemo, radiation and cyber knife treatments. She is currently on immuntherapyy treatments and will be for the rest of her life. The radiation she had in 2011 ruined the blood flow to her hips and she had hip replacement surgery that didn't go well. Two months later she had brain surgery to remove a place of cancer (she had six in her brain) that was causing seizures. When she started having seizures we went to a Harley Davidson Tri-Glide trike. Our thoughts were if she had a seizure on a two wheeled motorcycyle it might cause an accident injuring both of us and possibly others. We didn't want that so we bought a trike. On a trike we feel I should be able to pull over and tend to her needs. But the trikes we've owned ride like a dump truck, even after I've spent hundreds of dollars to improve the ride. Like I said before, we're old and want a nice ride. So now I want a scooter for the smooth ride. And since her brain surgery she hasn't had another seizure, so I want to go back to two wheels. The Kymco X-town 300i is the one I want for many reasons. One is that long roomy passenger sear for my wife, She is a small women but I want her to be comfortable. And the seat is flat, not making her slide down toward the front. I hope the X-Town can cruise all day at 65mph because that's about as fast as we go these days. When the speed limit is 70 mph we stay in the right lane and go 65 mph. If someone wants to pass, that's what the left lane is for. Since you own one, what are your thougths on my choice of scooters? I have a deal on a 2022 with only 1600 miles for $3500. It looks like new in the photos. I think this is an alright deal, maybe not great, but an alright deal. By buying a slightly used one I can save by not paying the dealer's freight fees, dealer set up fees and dealer doc fee. If I bought a new one at a dealer it would cost me about $6500 plus tax and title fees. By buying this slightly used one I can save thousands, almost have price of a new one. How long have you owned yours? How many miles have you put on yours? Have you had any trouble with yours? Do you still like yours? and would you buy another X-Town 300i? Thank you for all your help. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.
Wow, I’m glad your wife is doing better. I hear the Can Ams are good three wheels, if you need three wheels again. Might get that when I don’t want two wheels. I’ve had this scooter for over a year now, with almost 7,000 miles. I love it. It works really well for me. Haven’t had any issues with it. Let me know how it goes. Ride safe.
@@GloChix We tried out some Can Am Spyders and even bought a Ryker for our son who had a cripppling stroke. But she didn't care for them. I want to go back to two wheels real bad and I like the Kymco X-Town the best of all scooters I've seen. I have never owned a scooter, (too mucho). I've always had motorcycles, but at this stage of my life I am ready for comfort, not looks. I think, and I told my wife that it would be the most comfortable two wheeler we've ever had. I told her the X-Town 300i is like a mini Gold WIng (which are too big for me) and we could ride the X-Town anywhere. But she is afraid to go back to two wheels. I've got a deal on a used 2022 X-Town 300i with only 1600 miles for $3500. This way I wouldn't have to pay the dealer freight, set up fees, or doc fees. A new one at a dealership after all these fees would cost me over $6000. I really want this used one and if we like it, after we run the miles up I might buy a new one in a few years. We usually ride 15,000 miles a year. We have went well over 300,000 miles by motorcycyles. Took vacations on them and camped out along the way. LOTS OF FUN. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.
@@genegoodwin8925 Hi, yeah everyone has a preference and ya gotta ride what you are comfortable with. That’s why I choose the Kymco , it’s easy for me to handle and I don’t have to think about clutching. Plus I can keep up with my hubby. Just get use to it before your wife rides on back. Sounds like you ran into a good deal too. Ride safe and have fun. 😁
Hi! love seeing another x-town rider on here! I was wondering did you also do a gear oil change? I was reading the manual and apparently the first oil change also requires a gear oil change.
Thanks for asking but we sprayed painted my old one off my Downtown. Yeah I couldn’t find one I liked cuz of the color or cost at the time. So decided if my old would fit the XTown we would spray paint it. Hope you find one you like. Take care.
I noticed the vibration at 70 mph. I think after a couple minutes I don’t realize it as much. I will have to go for a ride and pay better attention about it. 😁 So I will let you know. I have read others mentioned about the vibration too. Did your dealer say why it vibrates?
Hi. I'm from Malaysia. My X-Town 250 had vibration at 120kph. It's normal. But I've send my x-town to specialist local xtown mechanic and he do some modification on primary sheave in CVT. Now my xtown only vibrates at 140kph/ 80mph
Doesnt it have an oil filter? I saw a video of an oil change on a downtown 300 that had an filter. Would be strange if the newer model doesnt have a filter.
Thanks for watching. I thought it was weird too it doesn’t have an oil filter but it’s an oil screen. That’s the thing that fell out into the drain pan. You just clean it with the oil change a few times before you have to change it.
You forget one thing. Scooter doesn't need JASO because it have separated gearbox unlike other bike mostly engine and transmission combined with wet clutch. Car oil in scooter doesn't hurt
If I put in the grade they say I get better mileage. Just got 77 per mile. Highway was 64 but had a lesser grade. I’m not a speed type person but I did hit 80 on the highway cuz of traffic but I did stay at 70. Just didn’t like the back wind off the trucks. Thanks for watching.
car oil in motorcycle engine, bad, bad bad, the jaso ma or ma2 is not a problem in this engine configuration but the principal problem its the diference rpm engine work, you need a real mecanic or dealer.
Hi. Full it takes 1.1 L (1.16 US qt). For the exchange 0.9 L (0.95 US qt). So when I did the exchange I put it just less than a quart. So there was a little bit left in the container. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Wow!!! Look at you go girl!!
An oil change!!!
Center kick stands are a bonus for sure!
Thanks. Yep glad for the center stand.

Great job on the oil change 👍 Having that center stand is a big plus for bike maintenance, especially with oil changes.
Thanks. Yes that center stand is helpful.
Great video, thanks for uploading!

Great job GloChix!
hey quick question after you did the oil change did the oil light go off on its own or. you need to reset the dash. thanks for the info @Glochix
Hi, Yeah it don’t go off immediately. Just reset in the dash. Go to the oil change mode to reset.
ok awesome thank you so much. one more question did you use SAE90 or 10W40 for the gear oil change ?
I did the 50 but can’t find it this time so looking at the 10w30?or 40 but making sure it’s the four stroke.
so we don’t have to use SAE90 for the gear oil change
I’m sorry I miss read. Yes, sae 90 for for gear oil.
