    On one hand you say Manmohan Singh was acting as per the dictats of the family. Then again every body admits his policies turned around India in very difficult times and had both welfare measures and economic progress including all economic pundits and journalists. Most corruption charges could not be proved even after more than 10 yeras of opposition. So what is wrong in giving some credit to the Congress. president.

      Narasimha Rao didnt listen to Sonia that is a fact. Hence she gave him cold shoulder. Only bcoz of Narasimha Rao did liberalization happen.

      What policies...he oversaw the biggest decade of corruption in independent India. Bombs were going off left right and centre. Pakistan was hitting us both from across the border and from within through its Jihadi proxies. That Italian bar maid did nothing but run the country into the ground. India grew despite the policy paralysis.

      There are still so many bakhts of the corrupt family to which "the transfer of power" was given by the British Raj, even if a foreign lady of dubious connections who insulted Narasimha Rao-ji even after his death. Yes, it was PVN Rao that did the liberalization and NOT Moun Singh or Sonia or Rahul.

The case was investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and resulted in the acquittal of all accused in 2017 by CBI court

      Sorry, Dr Singh was chosen to be there - to guide us through the unchartered territory of a liberalised market-driven free economy. Please don't forget he was an economist, an academician and a fine bureaucrat before he accidentally became a politician.

    MMS was also responsible for the high inflation in late 70s. He had a long history of being socialist with high taxation that ruined our economy. The only reason we opened up was because IMF arm twisted us. We had to do it because we had no more than 2 weeks of forex reserves to buy oil. As simple as that. While we all respect him, lets not give extra credit for the opening of economy - we did it because we had to.

      @Dogmatix-24 11 часов назад +1

      @@spectrum_X If Dr Singh's roadmap were to be thrown into the dustbin would that have been his fault or shortcoming? Maybe his roadmap was good enough for Mr Narasimha Rao to back. Maybe Mr Narasimha Rao was smart enough to recognise a good man who understood economics though not politics. We can forever dwell on ifs and buts of history but what eventually matters is he delivered us from the throes of economic disaster. If I am not mistaken Dr Singh was the PM when we had the highest economic growth without imposing popcorn tax, demonetisation, Rs 15,000 crore haircut, Rs 100+/litre of petrol, without devaluing rupee to record low. At least have the heart to give the man some credit though he never thumped a 56-inch chest.

    Well, history may or may not have been better. But if you go through history and try to learn from that, india would have become a miserable country. Look, Biden was a silent guy. What happened to America. Gorbachev was a less aggressive guy, which happened to the USSR. EVERY TIME a leader is less aggressive and silent it is always the country THAT HAS ALWAYS GONE DOWN THE DRAIN.

    MMS was a good man and an economist. But as economists go, from theory he supported free trade. He failed to understand the importance of manufacturing, science, technology.... he is responsible that he failed to protect and promote Indian manufacturing. MFG as a % of Indian GDP, did not increase. Indian MFG as a % of world's MFG, remains below 2%, despite 10 years of MMS or Modi. Only by creating jobs in industry or MFG, can we lift our people out of poverty. Deng Xiaoping realised it, our leaders do not. Trade and Manufacturing are taxed the same, while the later can create many many more jobs.

    Indian cricket woes!! One needed pragmatic people like Saurav Ganguly, MS Dhoni TO TAKE INDIAN cricket to great heights!! Like wise TODAY YOU NEED A leader with a strong pulse of the indian civilization TO solve India’s problems today & in future!!
    These guys only go by western brainwashing.. and apply western philosophy on a civilization that has stood the test of time..
