I agree. I would love an update on the people that he films and it would be awesome to see how she is going. Is she still there? Has she been promoted? Etc
Even my toilet bowl can smell the fakeness of this vid all the way from my house in Singapore. Do NOT ever be so simple-minded. This is just one huge mega advertisement for the company, nothing else.
I’m just in awe of her work ethic, habits, safety checks, lunch with the bosses and her overall attitude. Such a simple job and yet she has an upbeat attitude and that’s refreshing. She takes pride in her work too. Great vid 👍🏼
Well helps that she’s only delivery a couple of packages a day(not saying it’s a bad thing) compare to a UPS driver that can have hundreds of deliveries a day.

Paolo, your Day in the Life series is one of the best resources available on RUclips for those interested in understanding Japan and how it works. Each installment has been crafted into a seamless narrative full of the kind of fascinating insights and behind-the-scenes information that I would otherwise never have had access to. Thank you for creating this wonderful series, I look forward to each and every installment.
As a current Amazon driver, this blows my mind how chill it is. Having her do do sales. They have us do 'EVERY SECOND COUNTS!!!!' That it literally blows my mind how much time they spend not delivering. Prolly why she seems so cheerful and I'm beyond isolated, stressed and depressed. F***in adorable little van. At most you could only fill 1 Amazon tote in the van and on average I've got 14 plus 16-30 oversized packages that don't fit in totes. America sucks
I think that does explain a huge difference, there is a variation in her tasks throughout the day, she's not doing just one thing. She's picking packages up and delivering them, talking to people, making sales, and all in a small area so she gets to know her regular customers. Take that offering that store the Pallet. Want to bet they didn't tell her to go speak to every client but made sure she knew about the pallet and trusted her to know which of her regulars would get the most from that service and thus pay for it? That does make it more rewarding, don't misunderstand there are issues with Japan and work, for example an 11 hour shift is still terrible but yeah still better than Amazon
You’ll have a lot of fun as long as you’re skinny, white and speak japanese fluently. Oh and don’t go out ay night if you want to maintain your ideal image of Japan.

By accident we met 5 years after Mom had passed away I met Shirley. Mom was one of the few 4 am riders into the city. Shirley told me about her own route and I asked “Do you remember a Japanese woman?” I barely got the words out and Shirley started to cry when I told her that Mom had passed away. “What a wonderful woman!” That is a cherished memory for me. Everyone commenting on her looks but it’s not _just_ her looks, it’s more her *attitude* which you’re finding attractive. That positive energy she’s projecting.
From what I know, salaries are quite depressed in Japan and promotions only come after a fixed number of years - doing well and having a good attitude is considered a norm in Japan and you won't really be rewarded other than maybe a 5% larger bonus or some small amount like that

I 100% agree! Japan and its people are the absolute best of what humanity has to offer and its what we should all strive to become more like. They show what a society filled with peaceful, hard working, intelligent people can create on earth that other nations think is impossible to accomplish.

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. Thank you very much for your time. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).. God said : Say, “We believe in Allah, and in what was revealed to us, and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and in what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We do not differentiate between any of them. And to Him, we surrender.” (2:136 / Translated by Community)

As an ex delivery driver, we are not paid or obligated to deliver to the apartment door. By law we have to deliver to the entrance of the building/porch outside of the house. Everything else is a favor done to the client IF there is enough time to wait, which in most cases it is not.
Contact your shipping companies and make sure the have ACCURATE access codes to your building. Trust me, we want to get rid of your stuff so we don’t have to comeback the next day. Locked apartments are such time wasters. You’re not the only delivery. We have 170 other customers waiting to get their stuff too. Help us out a bit! And don’t get me started apartment buildings where the doors don’t have numbers or letters smh. If your door doesn’t have a number we’re not gonna go door to door looking for you. If your lucky pick it up at an access point otherwise it gets returned it to shipper.
Unless you have kids or work a 12 hour shift, there's no reason to not go to bed at a reasonable time. It's mostly someone's own fault if they don't go to bed at a normal hour. I'm guilty of it too.
So she is in office 11 hours of her day. Spends 1:30 hours preparing and commuting to work, another hour for coming back home and shopping for her shit. half to one hour cooking her meal, another half an hour to take a bath. That leaves her with about 1:30 to 1:00 hours of "free time" for herself. This is the modern definition of a slave, lives to work. I bet she works on Saturday too. You like this kind of life?

Yeah I encourage you to do that. I was working a warehouse job for 5 years I stared having a lot of issues mentally. Decided to leave and start working elsewhere outdoors and morning to afternoon. There is jobs that are repetitive but in different places with different people etc. but when you go to the same place everyday see the same people over and over it can get very stressful after a while even if the job is easy to do.

One day we'll see: "Day in Life of Paolo making a Day in Life video" video. Mainly because I don't know where you find these people and what you do to have companies and facilities agree for you to film for a youtube channel.
He advertises the company and probably pays the workers. He most likely asks the company for a person of their recommendation, this person will probably have to sign something denying them from suing the channel or the company for filming him/her. The worker maybe gets a bonus from the company, because this type of job would be in their contract.
@@smoshabi Not sure about that... If I had to guess I'd say he gets denied a lot. I can picture him sending 20+ emails to different companies for 1 video, or going on meetings to discuss deals.
I feel envious of her, in my country delivery person is not really a prestigious work, but damn she made it look like a fun and fulfilling work, and the customer are very friendly thankfully. Good for her.
Remember that people tend to act differently on camera. We can't be sure what little nuances are being downplayed to make it look more relaxed. Also, she's basically out for work/food 12+ hours a day and has almost no free time. Japan has been working hard to reduce their suicide rate, but it's still not in a great place.
Everything is so clean and organized and the people working there are intelligent. In europe and the US, it's pretty much the opposite. Working in delivery means working in a dirty environment with uneducated assholes. That's why the job is not prestigious. The west is really far behind when it comes to a bunch of things.
The companies there follow a set of principles known as the Kaizen. Out of several things, it encourages cleanliness and proper setup at workplaces, which will inturn encourage the workers in several ways.
yeah, here in my country, even an acrylic keychain could break.. i mean, it's not even fragile, it wouldn't break if you drop it, i bet they step on it..
Kevin in all seriousness, if you're a good driver...you know what packages are fragile...like heavy boxes that probably have furniture...and light little t shirt bags. Every package should arrive undamaged. With that said, most people that work in these industries are lazy and slow and the only way they can get close to production is to throw your shit around.
One thing that always impresses me about Tokyo is just how unbelievably clean everything is! In America, you can't go one block without spotting some garbage on the ground.

Brother I feel you.
Lmfao~~~
Come to China or Hong Kong you will regret of what you said.
America don’t suck. Amazon is the issue! Get a job at UPS or FedEx, 1/2 the work and 3x the pay.
She's 22, and her level of responsibility and diligent work ethic is simply admirable. I couldn't imagine being like that at 22, props.

And to Him, we surrender.”
(2:136 / Translated by Community)

One thing that always impresses me about Tokyo is just how unbelievably clean everything is! In America, you can't go one block without spotting some garbage on the ground.
We love this series, Paolo! It is so interesting to get a sense of the various types of jobs that people do in Japan! Also it is very interesting to see how the culture of a country impacts the jobs and tasks of workers during the day. Keep it up, Paolo and otsukaresama deshita Yasuho! Thank you for the video! Hugs from Vancouver, Canada 🤩 Ps: the trend we are seeing is no one has breakfast at home! Lol
I swear this guy makes any Japanese job look like something you absolutely want to do
The cuteness of the girl help with that feeling
You want to work from 7am to 6pm? That's not exactly the American 9 to 5 job. And it looks exhausting.
@@GizmoMaltese I work 6:30 to 5 pm but have Fridays off lol
@@94mac In japan you don´t have almost any vacation, just 4 to 5 days per year in the best case. If not... well, they can always hire someone who wills to not take any rest
@@GizmoMaltese in america work monday-saturday 8 hours/day?
The "pointing at things" safety routine is very common in Japan, train drivers also do it. Pointing and saying out loud things helps the brain to focus and be aware.
You can see that at airports as well. Very efficient!
@DSG Unknown en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointing_and_calling
not a Japanese but I did it a lot of times everytime I need to get off to college(it's one hour one way ride) :'))
Paolo I love your series of videos. I’m fascinated with Japan and a visit is on my bucket list.
Sagawa: Delivers carefully and says thank you twice
FedEx: YEET!
💀💀💀💀😂😂😂😂
I'm Japanese. Sagawa is infamous in Japan for being a sweatshop, forcing drivers to work 16-18 hours a day to death literally. So, this video, which is well done, can be nothing more than a sugarcoated promotion for Sagawa.
you made my day ahah
fed normal say fuck you
@@mitsuh.9168 that's sad. I feel for them.
Paolo "Can I do a video to promote your company?"
Sagawa Delivery "Yes... send out the prettiest girl we got!"
Paolo "DOMO ARIGATO!!"
awww 😁
Down bad
NICEEE right😅
Lmao
Yep
In the Philippines, most drivers drink first then take cocaine before driving.
lol they are badass
🤣🤣🤣😂
I love Filipinos, I've been in both countries, but I must admit, he is right.
One day I took a gipney from Imus to Baccor and the driver was a 70 to 80 km per hour, sounds not much, but if you consider how busy the road was , it was mental, and he was smoking too 🤣
Regardless, they both are amazing people.
Love Philippines and it's people, despite the chaos.
Hey! That's how Denzel Washington flies planes.
So true
Paolo if I ever in my lifetime get the chance to visit Tokyo/Japan I'd be a pleasure to meet you and thank you for all the great content. Cant wait for more Day in the life videos in the near future! 👍👍
man they really just put their packages in front of their door and someone comes and picks it up... and noone steals it. what a country
true, in mine the moment something is out of your sight, no matter big or small form more than a minute, its probably gone, and it doesnt even have to be valuable, little metal pipe was stolen from me for less than a minute, it fell from terrace and by the time i went down it was gone literally a minute tops
we do that here too. I'm a delivery worker, I work a pretty safe suburb
@@nopenope6151 where are u from?
Same goes for Singapore.

If this isn't called an organized country then I don't know what is.

@@Northstar_004 Went to Philippines, it is well organized compared to India.
@@Northstar_004 I would agree! but I've never been there before? I searched up the Philippines, and it showed beautiful photos, but then I searched up my country and noticed that those pictures that were taken looked nothing a like to what I was seeing from my point of view, so then I thought that the Philippines might have certain areas where it's not so tidy, and that's okay! It's normal.
@ they literally invented it
so much respect between people in Japan, i like that.
her: doing safety checks with her car
our UPS guy: 10 points for running over children and 20 for adults
😁😁😁😁
这么粗逛的吗😂
Not gonna lie. That’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my life 😻
I'm sure she only did it for camera, not everyday!
:D
All those safety checks and here in America my Cousin is driving trailers with wires exposed. Much respect to Japan. Much respect to this hard working amazing Girl. The kindness and hospitality in Japan is beautiful. Japan is a very awesome place. Here in America delivery Drivers are treated like crap, and I love how the Companies she delivers to put her as a priority, also the fact you can leave packages outside and they wont get stolen. That is very awesome.
What they missed here to explain is that she has long working days, but Sagawa delivery guys mostly work 4 days per week only. So she will have a nice 3 day break to relax every week.
Aha Ha nice to know! She seems to enjoy her work but still, her schedule would be too much to handle for 5 full days
glad its only 4 days
in my country, sometimes there is almost no time off, on sundays they pick up packages at the office to be sent tomorrow monday
Ok makes sense if its this way. Other than that would be so gloomy and depressing
that's nice... i work super long hours too with only a day break/week
Meanwhile FedEx will literally punt my pakcages from the street onto my doorstep
Pretty damn tucking impressive
I used to work for FedEx
It's even worse at the warehouses
Best part is nobody gives a fuck😂
They deliver yours? Mine get held hostage at a facility until I call the sender to investigate
LOL I assure you, they treated the stuff in your packages roughly right from the factory. If it survives the crazy tossing right from the start in China, the FedEx stuff is practically handing it to you on a silver platter.
Doorstep? I'd be lucky and my package end up in my neighbor's backyard, lol!

same here in indonesia, Amazing thing is Yasuo is working on the Sales too when our Courier is just delivering our stuff and still messed up
Where are you from? In Brazil, we suffer from the same problem!
My delivery worker cracked my portable desk 😭
Such an impressive young woman. I hope her life has been fulfilling since you filmed this episode
If they did a breatherlizer check in USA, we’d never have anything delivered.
You made my screen all spit wet by water
True.
Before and after your shift..geesh! So much for a lunch beer 😂😂
"We need this delivered before 8am." "OKAY HOLD MY BEER!"
And in Russia too
FedEx: We’re good at what we do
Sagawa: Hold my package
More like :don’t hold my package you might dirty it
Actually it seems they consume a lot of time. Pretty sure FedEx doesn't care how dirty the truck is as long as the driver delivers as much package as they can possible squeeze.

These are the only videos that can entertain me at the moment. I love them. The times between the narrator speaking are good. It's too common now for youtubers to edit their videos so that they're constantly talking, even editing out their breaths. Like ChrisFix and Technology Connections constantly talk. It gives me no rest.
Thank you for your well paced videos.

Dude they didnt even deliver my last package, I had to pick it up. complete bs. if the post office workers looked like this girl I wouldn't care tbh!
ITS TRUE
Japanese companies have way more employees compared to the number of packages so less work/stress by employee
It allows to do a better quality job
Amazon, postal services,.... Tend to cut edges to make more profit and that's never good for the quality of service
