After watching some of the eps of this series, I really wished they would continue the series, say every 10 years or so, with the student in the last series (Victoria, here) becoming the new teacher (as Billy Van did himself) to a new young student, teaching about the advancements that had been made in the intervening 10 years (say, the internet and early website building). Then again a decade later, touching on new concepts like AI and VR and cloud-based technology. I would have watched the hell out of that. :D
Yes, back in the day, I do recall, a sense of optimism and an expectation to raise the public consciousness and there was a sense of public good. Nice playful tone in this vid too. (the address is a large apartment building. :) )
Is it possible to get this video redone in 480i? I know it looks like VHS quality, but you CAN use a de-interlace feature when you digitize the video... Maybe someone over at TVO could upload a better quality ver. of this series, because I can hardly read what's on the screen.
This was made in the waning years of TV Ontario. Most of the assets were recycled from the original 1983 show, and it looks painful here. Nobody was plugging any computer into an RF modulator in 1993. The original show was a pluralistic view of computing. This one was just a big advertisement for Windows 3.1.
i mean, there isn't a purpose to make shows like this today because of youtube and other video services that tour you to things like computers, games and even checking your blood sugar.

Unfortunately not (though I am still trying to track it, and a better quality digitisation of the episodes, down).
Please, when you find it, tell me.
Billy Van hosted the sequel after he knew so much from the original.
Does anyone know what version of word is being used throughout this video?
Was probably 1.1. The show was produced in 1990/1991 and version 2.0c wasn't available yet.
it was good tvo program.
