Ben Johnson wasn't my top choice but Colton saying Ben "did a Sean Payton" with Jared Goff moves him to the top of my list, for those that don't know, Sean Payton met Drew Brees after the Saints signed him from the Chargers, went over the playbook, discussed what Drew liked and was comfortable with and what he disliked and and wasn't comfortable with. I think we can all agree that was a good thing and their offensive results back it up.
Has he been a proven head coach with a track record of being the main person building culture, assembling a staff and attracting talent? Pretty sure the answer to every one of those is “No.” He is the next media darling OC. We’ve done this before. I don’t understand why everyone is leaning this way. He seems completely unproven at HC and far from a sure thing at HC in my opinion.
That is what the media always ignores. No one digs into the details. Even the pros. The Bears need a head coach. Not one bit of proof he can do all the above. Not one iota.
Matt lafleur was a 1st time head coach Kevin O’Connell was a 1st time head coach Sean mcvay was a 1st time head coach that got the same type of vitriol look at em now
I'm pretty sure they need an OC as well. Not sure what your point is. Hire an HC (experienced only, please) and he can hire an OC and a QB coach and....
If I were the Bears, I would try to save this season. There are players that you know exactly what you are going to get. They don't need the reps. Look down your bench and learn what you have. Play them against a team that wants to win. Don't wait till next camp to learn what you need and have. Start today. It's not helping Williams taking bad reps. He needs to sit. You're not going to fix anything in these games. Just get prepared to address those problems off-season. Win out, does nothing for the new team you plan on delivering next year. If there is anyone that thinks a run at the end of this season will help going into next season, they need to go. Again, it does nothing.
I think teams that either have an established qb or dont have their guy or even a young are the teams that need to hire coaches like vrabel, flores and glenn. Culture builders. Get that goin and create a situation conducive to a young qb or bringin in a vet to close the deal. If you have a young qb or bout to draft one, then you have to have a young offensive minded dude to work w them. And if you’re defensive you better have a slowik or a kingsberry w ya for the first few years before they bounce
Which is kinda funny since last year we handedly out played them twice with a supposedly worse team. Yet this year with more Weapons we can't even compete with them. Make it make sense. Bear down
Wasn't Nagy a quarterback whisperer too? There's zero proof Ben Johnson would be a good coach or help Caleb Williams. Vrabel is more of a "sure thing" than Johnson is.
Poles won't take a chance on a first year guy again and I have two Detroit Lions fans that tell me it's a big mistake to hire him as a head coach. He's creative with the Lions but he has their O-line and their players and the occasional brain lapse. He is NOT a head coach.
They better stop with this "can't miss" crap. Especially with a 1st year non experienced coach. We need a frickin leader of men, we need someone who will charge the culture.
Sorry, that is a no go on Ben Johnson. No more coaches learning on the job for the Bears. It's funny that you want them to make the same mistake over and over again.
“Leader of men” what cringe buzz words lmao talent on the team is what matters, this is why Chicago teams suck cause y’all concentrate on “sayings” instead of scouting better talent
Idc Pat. We aren’t winning this game. Or next. Or after that. We’re cooked. I’ve been blindly calling wins up until last week. Listening to people shit on my opinion. Fuck it, they were right. Were cooked.
The only can’t miss candidate was Jim Harbaugh. He would’ve changed the organization around but there are personalities in ownership and GM positions that are bigger than the teams success. The way the players are looking these days, it seems that they don’t want to play for this organization either. Broken culture.
Did you forget that we are talking about the Bears? No one succeeds with the Bears and Ben Johnson will ruin his career if he comes here. Williams should demand to be traded he will fail with the Bears. Any team can beat the Bears, even with their 3rd string team
Oh, because nothing ever changes. Similar to Detroit losing every year. Whoops, proved that you are just being unnecessarily pessimistic. You have been exposed.
Imagine not wanting to be working in two of the biggest markets in the league. Nope, I think you are missing it by far. It is as if you believe the coaches know that they are not good enough and are looking at only good teams to coach. Bears do not need a coach who thinks that way. Only confident and experienced coaches, please.

Hint, the coach is not for Calebs personal use. We need a coach that can coach a team. If Caleb fails so what move on. Give me a coach not an OC.

Yo pat we say the same thing about the 49ers and we got blowout 😂😂😂

@@shawnthompson1226 You missed the game they played earlier. Nothing has changed this season. You just want them to suck for some weird reason.
No such thing as "Can't miss".
I'll take Vrabel.
It sucks that they are set back another year or two...but I have no problem finding other players...so many of ours have regressed
You mean forward, not set back. This is all part of the rebuild. Still going in the right direction.
@@jimsnyder6310 mf its a setback we went from 7-10 to soon to be 4-13 or 5-12

Ben Johnson or Bust

Lions will win by double digits…..another nail in Poles coffin

It took you this long? Did you notice that they fired their two play-callers a while back. Not sure why you'd expect anything else. Reality!
Wtf are these 3 did any ever play in the nfl
Bears will win the next 3 games. So they can screw up their draft.
Espn is hot garbage
Courtney is actually better looking without makeup
