    Chris your style of wheeling is exemplary. There’s no reason to abuse your equipment, nor the landscape as both can be fragile...
    I’m not a Jeep owner yet, perhaps this coming year as there are a lot of things going on in my wife’s and my life presently. Good things come to those that are patient.

    Chris, one of your best vids to date, but we really have to have a chat about your nutrition. Jesus God dude, you're like the poster child of processed corporate garbage food. You have the gift (and the curse) of a physique that obviously does not put on weight, but eating that stuff will affect more than just your body. It really affects your gut flora, which has a tremendous impact on your general well-being, everything from mood swings to the quality of your sleep. Real food brother and I'm not talking about Whole Foods. You have the freedom to really explore back country farms, coops and farmer's markets to get some locally-grown goodness. Throw some farm butter or xv olive oil on that skottle and cook up some fresh veggies and starches not smothered in pesticides and locally-raised grass-fed meats and you'll taste what I'm talking about. I'm only writing because I'm really beginning to understand the vibe and cadence of your overland lifestyle and I find it very soothing and rhythmic. It has a real zen quality to it. But then you throw down a slim-jim and all I can say is, "WTF did he just eat?!" :)

    • @JenniferLangille
      @JenniferLangille 6 лет назад +9

      Oh Peter... if you could have heard/seen my reaction to seeing him with that Slim Jim... I'm on it! We are re-connecting soon and he really enjoys eating well, so it should be just having someone traveling alongside who loves to cook and eat local. After a decade of life in Vermont I can't even shop in regular stores, of course I use to lived down the street from Pete's Green's Market in Waterbury (#spoiled) Thank you for calling him out! LOL Hope to meet you soon. Cheers!

      Thx so much Jennifer. You're not going to believe this, but I almost said in my post, "Just eat the way Jennifer does!" If you recall, I posted in one of the vids Chris did with you that his mood was noticeably more positive. In fact, it looked like he was "glowing" a little bit. That's what comes from eating real food for sure. Thx for the reply!

    • @takayama1638

      I've thought the same, Peter. Whew, Chris eats more forms of cheese and bread than anyone I've ever seen. Pasta, cheese, then bread, cheese, then cheese and cheese, then Cheetos and cheese.... no harm meant Chris, but man, eat some "Woman Food®" occasionally. That means vegetables.

    Back in 86 & 89 I went wit my Cave club to Bridge day. We rappelled off the bridge (300ft level as we did not have a 900ft rope). It was an amazing thing to hang under the bridge on a string.
    After rappelling, ascending then a second rappel I caught a lift up with a few BASE Jumpers. We discussed risk and danger.. (I had parachuted at a jump school a couple of time the year before). They said I was crazy.. I asked them why am I the crazy one? they said: You only have one rope.. we have 2 chutes.. I have never forgotten that exchange. Everyone measures risk and danger in different ways..

    Great story. I am in Virginia. I will have to try and find that campground. Did not know about it. I have been on that road, with the the turn, on my motorcycle. The river livery guys ferry rafters on that road. They carry the rafters down there in school buses. I don't know how they do it.

    Great video again! I see you are cooking more than just grilled cheese. :) Also your wheeling style is the same as mine, slow and steady. It drives me insane when I see someone hammering through a trail. I'm not a Jeep guy but yours looks fantastic and I love the Ursa Miner on top and no ridiculous LED light bars all over the place. Safe travels.

    23:31 Next time, you will want to remove the tree. Going off trail just widens the trail, causing damage and erosion. Always carry a saw. Axes are optional.

      Rilley Wilson So what if it is a diary? It’s his diary, not yours. If the videos are too long for you, watch it in 3 minute intervals. Nobody said you had to watch it all at once. Besides, RUclips’s algorithm favors longer watch times.
