Island Packets are structurally designed for ocean sailing with a full length keel and skeg hung rudder. Ansoba is also fitted with a bow thruster to aid manoeuvring in tight locations, and powered winch allows for easier sail deployment. Optional sail configurations allow you to sail fast with the combination of yankee and staysail or more cautiously in heavy weather with just the staysail which has a dedicated self tacking boom to make your life very easy.
Undoubtedly one of the many best features is her large roomy enclosed cockpit. Her current owners upgraded the canvas and raised the arch to allow for extra headroom and house 4xsolar panels on the Bimini. The cockpit is very well lit at night but offers excellent visibility under sail with or without the infill strip.
Below decks she opens like a Tardis with a very warm interior polished timber interior with classic blue upholstery. Another feature of the Island Packet 420 is the table which folds away offering more roomy cabin than you would expect to find on a yacht of this size.
