I think the reason the softer aesthetics have more representation right now is from the pushback of WOC and plus size women that they’re “masculine” and embracing hyper femininity. So maybe that’s why there’s less in these less hyper feminine aesthetics?
I found my style thanks to you! I didn’t realize coquette, rockstar gf and MOD(all aesthetics I’m obsessed with) could fit into one category. Much love! 🥰🥰
i think i'm a mix of coquette and messy french girl, but at the same time I don't force myself into one aesthetic, I just wear multiple of them because I'm indecisive. Just wear what you feel like wearing and don't put yourself in a box guys! :) I also just discovered your channel today and i love it :)
okay, I LOVE your style analysis series!! seriously, so much. you articulate everything SO well and I def love how you emphasise on lots of things that need to be acknowledged more!! like representation and diversity is so important. you really do deserve so much more love and recognition and I have no doubt you’re going to get there soon!! your content and EVERYTHING is perfect- and can we talk about the editing too? it’s all. so. INCREDIBLE. also, your excitement and gracefulness about what you do is just the cutest thing ever djdhshsiek- like your passion so visibly shines through 🥺💛 thank you for this!!
When I think of “messy French girl” I think if Laetitia Casta in the early 2000s, Eva Green in The Dreamers, and Marine Vacth! I think the fact that these women are actually French. I think this video is cool and I like the content you’re posting. But I think staying true to the actuality of a French woman not people roleplaying as an aesthetic or living for an aesthetic yanno? But thank you for creating and sharing!
I love watching these aesthetic analysis things, they’re so cool. All of my fav styles are kind of similar. Messy French girl, coquette, fairy grunge, rockstar girlfriend and some other stuff. Daily reminder you can have more than one aesthetic!!
Loved the video! I've been thinking about literal living legend and style icon that is *technically* Brititsh, but has spent most of her life and became famous in France, Jane Birkin. She really embodies that "I don't care" attitude but has fabulous after party chic vibes (:
Your last two vids FLEW by for me. The only occasion I was conscious of time was when I rewound a few secs to look at the dresses you termed "classic messy french girl." I found this vid mesmerizing as I did last week's. I made notes and I picked up my pen first to write "tip." Then, of course, you called me out and told me not to! Ho-ho-ho. Oh, you know me toooo well. I loved the in-French opening and sign off. On this look: My mind was racing and I made lots of notes. To summarize, I love this look, the nihilistic, don't care-ness of it. You have problems with it: it's not inclusive, cigs are bad for you, it's expensive etc. I think though you find the key to unlock this conflict. IT'S NOT FOR LIFE! IT'S FOR ONE DAY OR NIGHT! Can't we all smoke a cig now and then and hurt our feet wearing high heels and be hung over one day?! We can. The lack of size+ does bother me a little but the last note I wrote myself was "Facial Beauty is key" double underlined. There are a lot, a lotta lot, of "fat girls" who have beautiful faces! And, I think you can make a lot of un-lovely faces lovely with make up and accessories. Now, one could critique that as well. "Well, we should include the un-lovely." Look: CAN PRETTY GIRLS HAVE HER SPACE TOO? Come on. If you are blessed with beauty of face, what, should you wear a hajib to be inclusive. Come on. One last: two notes--"sunglasses". They are KEY imo. Okay enough from dad. SENSATIONAL VID, A MILLION THUMBS UP! Love you (that's my tip)
two people you did not mention (probably cause they’re middle aged) but that epitomize the messy french girl (and are actually messy french women) are carine roitfeld (former eic of vogue paris and eic of cr fashion book) and caroline de maigret (model writer chanel muse and music label co owner). they both have a very deliberately careless (at least at first sight) approach to life, yet remain seductive and mesmerizing despite not being the prettiest woman in the room. to me the biggest appeal to messy french (and european) girls is that they feel like a breath of fresh air when compared to all the ig models, “that girls” and other pristine femme archetypes online
Carine is actually elderly because she’s 70 years old. Hard to believe looking at her. She an example of what money, good food, genes and behavior can do for a person.
As a french girl it’s always “making me laugh” how the french girl aesthetic in general has just nothing to do with how french girls actually dress and how that is just how americans think French girls are. Something too, why are ( except Lily Rose ) the peoples that embody the French girl aesthetic all Americans and not actually French XD ? and all of the pictures, again mostly all tourists in luxurious hotels at Paris, really showing how that aesthetic is just a romantization ( I don’t think that word exist but anyways ), because sorry to disappoint but all French girls are not blonde white skinny and rich and even those girls don’t dress like that. I don’t have a problem with aesthetics but just if you want to make an aesthetic about a country at least do it well XD. Voilà, just me wanting to clear things out because it’s kinda of upsetting to see my culture so badly represented. But anyways love your videos, bisous your French fan !
yes i totally agree! it’s definetly the over romanticization of french culture. americans have a “british people are smart, french are romantic, italians are passionate” as if an entire country can be summed up into an aesthetic 😭 Merci pour votre soutien! bisous!!
I just discovered your channel and let me tell you I absolutely love itttt❤ you have such a cool vibe and seem like a really nice person💕 I'm subscribing right now
ooooh interesting!! it’s definitely something i would have to spend some time familiarizing myself with but it seems like there could be something really neat there!
Your outfit is definitely accurate French girl lol!! When I went to Monaco and Cannes for the summer, the girls there definitely dressed like you (The bralette and the pearl necklaces).
You should feel lucky that your nationality like French/Italian or other European nationalities are linked with being sophisticated / beautiful /elegant and glamour, when there are a lot of nationality who unluckily are linked to negative things, like Mexican is mainly linked with criminality and narcos so I wouldn't complain
@@dionthetaurus yikes I hope you didn’t get bullied out of using it. I always took it as a sort of class solidarity thing so it’s disappointing to see it go. You do you tho.

i’ve thought about it! but honestly i find it gross and don’t really want to talk about it because i don’t want people to be inspired by a toxic aesthetic nor do i want people to be triggered but the glorification of the skinny body and ED’s
