Hopefully this will help someone that's not to sure whats involved, so can make a decision on whether to do it themselves of not.

Thanks for the video. Good stuff. Had a tough time with the cover but finally got it. Compass error after my first crash. Compass had come loose. Working great now. Good guidance regarding not to use a screwdriver. Had all my tools ready to go thanks to this video.

had a minor crash that broke the compass ribbon cable. I was trying to figure out how to repair the ribbon when I found the compass is only $15 USD and your video saved the day!
I'm glad I came across this video! After my recent 'compass error' scare, I'm going to try to replace the compass in my P3A. This vid will def. help. Nicely done!

That is far, far easier way to get at the compass and gps than every other video and guide I've seen suggests. It's literally the reason I haven't replaced mine yet.

Thank you for the video my P3s had compass issues out of the box I contacted dji and they wanted me to send it back and on the fb pages guys were saying they were waiting 6-8 weeks I found the compass for 12 dollars and followed your instructions took her out not one compass error didn't lose gps once thank you so much!

Great video thanks for posting. Only info I could find on the internet that showed reliably and easy how to do this. Company I bought my Phantom 3 Advanced from hadnt put the compass wire in the "step" or channel, and so the clipped pressed in tight severed the wire and I needed to replace. Now thanks to you back up and running. Cheers.

Yesterday while flying my Phantom 3 I also get the compass error. I have tried to recalibrate it but I keep on getting the message saying that theres magnetic interference..even when I change locations. Do you think I'll need to change the compass or are there any other suggestions you might have?

I wish dji would accept that a batch got bad compasses. Mine was screwed from day one. I get compass stuck error all the time. Almost lost it over a lake when it took off.

Question, if DJI Drone when attempting to take-off, she tips over every time hitting blades. What is this malfunction indicative of? Anyone?
I would say either a bad motor or bad ecu

Did you mean ESC board that connects to motor?
No the IMU main brain if you like. Try doing a IMU re-calibration. also Join a DJI facebook group and ask on there too. Good Luck.

Hey bud, the new compass works great! Easy enough job, and today I flew with NO errors for the first time in months. I've been contemplating and dreading sending my Phantom to DJI for repair, wish I had seen your video sooner. Now I'm in the air again!

Hi man, i'm having the same issue i guess..
Constantly "Compass Error" whenever i trie to calibrate my compass before takeoff.
Havn't flew in months since this issue...Did you also had this problem before you chose to replace the wire/compass?

Hey mate, yes I kept getting compass error, sometimes i couldn't fly and then sometimes I would get up in the air and then the error would hit and then have fun bringing her home. Also DON"T calibrate compass before every flight do it in the middle of a field or somewhere and you should be good only do it after firmware update or if you go on holidays a few thousand klm away, mine hasn't been done since I replaced the compass over a year.
