What's crazy is that move he made against the Raiders getting kicked in the eye thru his helmet and he still did a 360 broken tackle to throw a TD was insane, but his eye has never been the same, notice how one is lower? Yes. Everything about the trade has been a failure. They haven't gotten ROI in Watson, they lost ALL credibility and respect from fans they'd banked up over decades of being lovable underdogs, they set unrealistic expectations for absurd fully guaranteed $$ trades, and they lost so much money/draft capital. This has been an abject failure and there's not much that can be done at this point in Watson's contract tenure that could flip that around, even if they were to go deep into the playoffs they're doing it despite Watson's contributions on the field.

    This year will decide.
    The Browns knew going in that Watson was facing suspension for at least half the 22 season. He was banned from facilities, and official contact with the organization. He walks in cold on week 11 and gets 3 days of practice.
    His lack of cohesion with the offense becomes obvious, but he gets a full offseason, OTAs, and training camp.
    2023: he dominates the Bengals, gets a touch of Steeleritis in week 2, and gets injured against Tennessee. He's out for 4 games. He gets slammed in the 1st quarter against Baltimore and has a spotty 1st half before lightning up the vaunted Ravens D in the 4th quarter--with a broken shoulder socket and he's out for the season.
    2023 showed flashes of who the Browns traded for which means he's still got the potential to play All Pro level ball.
    Shoring up the O line, and integrating the Dorsey offense (which is supposedly going to lean into Watson's athleticism) SHOULD result in a return to form for him. And if the Browns can dodge the injury bug, watch out NFL.
    This will be year 3 of a 5 year deal. It's make or break for him, however I happen to think the odds favor a top 10 version of Watson in 2024 rather than a bottom 10.

    Something everybody misses is I don’t think he should’ve ever went to the Browns. This is a run heavy team who also wants a franchise QB. It doesn’t work like that! You can’t run Chubb 24/7 expecting any QB to get into the rhythm. I’m not talking about the injuries just specifically the play. Browns have some more weapons let’s see how he fairs with three receivers, a top notch tight end and an elite defense. Let him cook like he did in Houston, you can’t be a run heavy team with this type of QB. Simple as that

    From a Browns fan, this is nowhere near the worst trade. I really dont mind giving up three firsts concerning our luck in the first round. Besides MG, Baker, and denzel Ward, all of our first round picks haven't become decent starters. Plus, we have found good players in the second and third rounds like Martin emerson, Dwand jones, Cedric tillman, jerome Ford, and alex Wright. If we had those first, i guarantee that we would have drafted someone like Nkeal Harry.

    • @coganblaster
      @coganblaster 3 месяца назад +1

    • @coolbass11gaming13
      @coolbass11gaming13 3 месяца назад

      @coganblaster having a good gm doesn't inherently lead to draft success. having quality scouts and an owner who can put his own desires behind the teams best option is what leads to draft success. David tepper, Carolina Panthers owner, chose Bryce Young over Cj Stroud. He then fired the GM that originally wanted Cj.

      @coolbass11gaming13 3 месяца назад

      @StayPuftMarshmellow right, cause Desmond ridder, will levis, bryce young, trey Lance, and Kenny Pickett have all been tearing up the league. Cj Stroud and Anthony Richardson are the only recent qbs that have had success. About 50% of 1st round draft picks are out of the league in 3 or 4 years. Having a 1st-round pick does not guarantee you a good player.
