    It's an Epiphone Baritone (I talked about it with Paul), but now they have an endorsement with Third Eye Guitars (Custom 77), they use modified versions of the London's Burning Baritone

    it's because of proximity. You're hearing the actual drums, whereas most of the sound of the guitars and bass and vocals are shooting out over the audience. If you got back further it'd be a cleaner mix

    He screams a lot live, just later on in the show is usually when he does the cover, and he's probably exhausted and doesn't have the breath or energy to scream all the parts. :)

    Love the music and guitars, but why the fuck do these guys always back their leads? They never play their leads live it drives me nuts. It's always 2 rhythm guitars going. Kind of poser

    • @TheBlazearrow
      @TheBlazearrow 10 лет назад

      I don't think they ever use different pickups, just raise the volume in the studio.... The lead guitarist is always the least enthusiastic In this band and it annoys me

    • @milestag1857
      @milestag1857 10 лет назад

      TheBlazearrow He means that the lead guitar part is being done by playback, not by the live guitarists. You can actually hear the lead part in the first refrain a little after the minute mark. There's clearly a lead part coming through the speakers, but both guitarists are playing full on chords. I get that maybe they want the full sound of two rhythm guitars, I double track all the rhythms in my songs but actually play the lead, have the backing track do the rhythm part.
      Volumes does the same thing, sometimes there will be a lead part but the only guitarist on stage is actually playing rhythm and it's really frustrating.

      I think they may actually have a live lead, yeah they fully bar the chords but we can't tell if they're muting certain strings and playing others. Also the video moves around so much maybe Eric Poncet is playing it.

      Miles got the main point. They want a fuller sound from the rhythm guitars. Another reason they do this is because they're on a metronome. Makes for a nice clean sound when the leads will guarantee be on time with the drums. If you look at Chunk compared to most bands in their genre, they sound more like they're albums than anyone else.
