I'm not the type of person to glamorize the past in favor of dunking on the present, but it feels almost impossible to capture the energy of pop music in the late 2000s/early 2010s. It was truly something else.
I was 12 when this came out and music like this made me so excited to go to clubs, fast forward to when I’m old enough to go and music and club culture isn’t like this at all anymore

I was born in 89 and I really like new pop music, but I had never thought about this. Kesha always said that she just wanted to make music to play at parties and everyone can have a good time and there's no deeper meaning besides that. Gen Z has had all this weight of the future just dropped on them and I have so much respect for how well all of you have been managing it, but sometimes it seems like you never got the chance to just be kids and that sucks.
