This is heartbreaking and disheartening and at the sametime hard to watch our people wondering in total confusion and dismayed not knowing what to do next but stood there in SHOCKED like they've seen a GHOST in a deserted town and to add an insult to injury as this is not bad enough, no solution has been rendered to them. I am in shocked to see the blatant disregard of people's daily Livelihoods in a country we called the SMILING COAST OF AFRICA and from the looked of it, I don't see anyone smiling here but feeling mistreated by interrupting their livelihoods. The fact of the matter is, this to me just seems like a PREMEDITATED AMBUSH and it breaks my heart to see that our people now have to suffered as a result because someone took food out of their mouth to feed themselves and their beloved families..It is bad enough they have to struggle to keep their dignity because we failed to provide our own people the basics human necessities like Food, Clothing, and Shelter for sustainability, and NOW this? come on Gambia, we can do better than that. This is just out of this world and no human soul deserves this maltreatment...I rest my case.
The problem now is inside the markets, there is so much congestion,poor electrical installations, bad toilet facilities ect, the same people nagging about the exercise will be there blaming the system in the event that there is stampede and or fire outbreak.The safety and wellbeing of the Citizenry rest on Govt shoulders.
I hope the whole of Gambia will come together in 2026 Inshallah, just like they did in 2016, and get rid of this heartless and clueless government before they run the country into the ground. Their priorities should have been the high cost of living and electricity and water before this "encroachment" nonsense. They have no idea when it comes to how the ordinary gambians are living and trying to make ends meet.

With all my criticism of Barrow but Brikama Market is dangerously congested. If fire breaks out we will be the very people to blame the government. People cannot build and block pedestrian way any how they want....
