So, I really like that you did a positive review on this room. Everyone else seems so negative and I really like this room. I am a DVC member BUT I don't like cooking when I do Disney. This room would be great for my wife and I.
Only downfall is not having an actual fridge

Breaking the DVC model - cheaping out and getting rewarded. If you don't think this is going to continue to impact DVC and offer us less for more, you aren't paying attention.

Nice job, Amy. The room looks pretty, but without a kitchenette, it would not suit my family's needs. I hope DVC does not omit a kitchen sink, microwave, toaster, or refrigerator in any other DVC accommodations. We like to refrigerate leftovers for the next day, wash our dishes with dish soap (not in the bathroom sink), and have breakfast in the room, usually requiring a toaster and/or microwave. Disappointing to see DVC leave out these essential elements of the "home away from home" model.

Amazing Room. I really love what they did to them. Not sure it should be classified as DVC without the kitchenette, and I wish they only came with one bed. Still beautiful though. One thing I noticed for sure though, once they build that tower next to the Poly, its going to ruin the serene and beautiful look of that area. Very disappointing. Wish they would cancel that project
Great job, Amy (and Paul). What gorgeous rooms! I’ve never been into the stuffiness of the Grand Floridian but these rooms are simply stunning.
How can a place be stuffy with mickey mouse and donald duck in the tile work?
I think it's beautiful. The room decor recalls Riviera a lot--the elegant fittings, lush fabrics and charming artwork. These two resorts are increasingly drawn together as the two premiere Disney properties. I'm not crazy about the lack of a toaster and microwave, and not having a proper refrigerator seems like a way to force guests to buy food and drink. Otherwise, I really love these rooms and can't wait for my first stay later this year.
Microwaves were on back order they are putting them as they come in. You can request a toaster.
I can definitely see staying in a room like this for 1 night at the beginning or end of a stay if I needed to tack on a day for less points than my typical 1 or 2 BR.
I am not a fan of shower doors on tubs. Makes it much harder to bathe children. But, it is a beautiful room.

Thanks for the review. I just read a review from someone staying on the first day too and they were told that the microwaves were delayed. So, each studio will have a microwave according to the information they received, plus you can request a toaster, as you mentioned. I can’t wait for my stay in the Resort Studio Lagoon View in August?😎👍🏻✨💫
My daughter and I have reservations here for January! Very excited, the room is beautiful! The only issue I don’t like is the beverage cooler- why no fridge. 🤷♀️ Thx for the tour Amy and Paul!
You can keep leftovers or milk in these fridges fine for a few days. They have these in many Disney hotel rooms and they work fine

Thanks for the tour! I do like the wallpaper and the tile but not a fan of the layout. Very much like a hotel room. We usually eat our breakfast in the room and not having a table or a refrigerator that can store milk is a negative. Doubt if I'd pick this room inwhich to stay with so many better choices. But now I know. Thanks again.

Great room tour, Amy and Paul! It's a very nice room, I'm just not a fan of the mini shelf nightstands by the beds.

I do wish they changed the tub but that coffee area seems fine, especially if they add a microwave or I can request a toaster. It isn't like the studios have a full kitchen at any resort. People are being very hard on these for not having a full kitchenette. I do wish the coffee table raised up for eating like SSR since there isn't a real table.
As a Poly owner, and Disney Day Drinker lol, I've always thought the GF theming was too 'snobby' for me and didn't have that fun Disney feel. But now!! I want to stay in these rooms and check it out!

My wife and I stayed in the theme park view opening day for 5 days. It was pretty but considerably louder than the original building.
It’s absolutely beautiful, but I mean, don’t call it DVC when it’s a fancy hotel room and not a “home away from home.” Our family would definitely need a kitchen and washer/dryer! I’d love to have the Grand Flo as our home resort but it is such an impractical choice when you’ve got a bigger family.
Would be tempted to add on if they had these rooms with a king bed.
20 amp outlet next to the bed so I can operate my miter saw.

Did they change the first digit to a one as it’s not longer considering building 9 because it has changed to DVC making it building 1 on Villas side now? I am staying there in Feb. 2023 and loved your balcony and view. Thank you very much! Watch you on the pod casts also. Awesome work!!
What?! You can see the Poly from the room?! Whatever happened to line of sight theming?! 😂 This is the same as Riviera looking at Caribbean Beach but nobody seems up in arms about it now
Is there a makeup/shaving mirror in the bathroom? Does the TV pivot at all so you can see it from the couch.
Would you stay at this room or the traditional deluxe studio. We do have a almost 2 year old and hope to store some milk but otherwise which location do you prefer for a 5 night stay?
Thank you for the thorough walk-through. The decor looks nice, but honestly overall the room is very underwhelming. Disney clearly just put some lipstick on a pig with these to get them turned over as quickly as possible. It certainly cheapens the dvc points for original owners at GF.
Oh, no. The couch thatt turns into a bed. Ever since the Polynesian my daughter will NOT sleep on those couch/turned into beds. She just can't sleep on them. Which then makes her cranky through the trip which is not what you want when you are leaving early to a park. We're more leaning towards the Swan / Dolphin. We really like thier beds.
Will they be refurbishing all the DVC GF villas? Or just these?
Does anyone know if there's a King bed or queen and seating area option in the resort studio category or just two queens?
So wait, deluxe studios and resort studios are not the same? Did the deluxe studios get a similar refurb too?
The bathtub is not the same. It is a new bathtub and it's actually a little bit smaller than the old bathtub. The old bathtubs were showing their age and we're not very white anymore.
We didn’t have a shiny new bathtub. I’m not sure where they came from but ours looked very much older and used in person-more so than the camera shows. It had some older looking stains.
We stayed opening night and our tub had older water stains. It didn’t look new at all.
Curious to know whether in situations like this, does DVC offer something like Club or Concierge food or beverage amenities? It would seem if I owned DVC and the home kitchen weren't an option, then am I wasting points for the stay here when maybe the studio in another resort provides more in room benefits?
The only concierge is located at Animal KIngdom Lodge Jambo house. The other studios don't have anything this room won't have. Studios are always just a microwave and coffee maker and toaster. The toaster can be requested for these rooms. I love that there is two beds and sofa bed.
No mini frig? I wonder why? We have a young child, so milk is going to be a problem... shame.
Under 40 is safe for food. I wonder if the air temp was under 40??
Sorry but I think you don’t have a kitchen. Happy no crumbs all over the room. Eat out your on vacation! Beautiful room! Now all they need to do is add two additional pools for their DVC and convention add ons.
I really want to own here but worry about availability because these rooms don’t have kitchenettes! I have no interest in a hotel room.
I do not know if I will ever get into the do you deluxe Studios?? I’m I over thinking this? Would this be a bad choice to purchase for my home resort for a family that needs The kitchenette option?
You are not over thinking it,you are exactly right. By adding this many more points to the pool, and not offering any more deluxe studios, they will be even harder to get.
Definitely not DVC quality! That’s a hotel room!

This seems like a downgrade. You get FAR more bang for your buck at the Waldorf Astoria (which is on WDW property).
The Waldorf and the rest of the Bonnet Creek resorts are actually not on Walt Disney World property. That said you do have to go on property to get to them. By the time you get to them you are off the property again.

I wouldn’t spend my hard earned money on that type room. After staying in a regular DVC rooms with either the full kitchen or the kitchenette, I’d say this is a downgrade. It might be a slightly bigger space, but I’d rather have the kitchen amenities. I like the home away from home feel. If I wanted a hotel room, I could find a more cost effective one off property. I’m not seeing how this will work for families with small kids or people who have special need of the kitchen. Why in earth should you have to request a microwave when you could just book a room that has one already?
Let’s not talk about the glass around the tub. That’s a pet peeve of mine. You can’t wash the kids comfortably with that there.
The room had pretty decorations and wallpaper with newer beds, that’s about it. I’m sure this room works for someone, it’s just not for me.

Grand Floridian? Could have fooled me. Looks like something one would find in a stuffy Manhattan boutique hotel. Nothing Victorian about it
CHEAP!! That’s not a DVC studio, again Disney goes for providing less. 🤬 Even non-Disney connected in any way hotels have refrigerators in the room, not beverage colors. 👎
Disney is getting cheap and no longer separates itself as a leader in theme park experiences. 🤦♀️
I get better services, at better prices , with better AP benefits/perks at both Universal and Seaworld. 🫤
Looks like a typical chain luxury hotel room. Nothing warm or inviting about itS. As if the GF seems to be having an identity crisis. So go with the bland “modern” velvets and mismatched draperies.
