Yield Contest Field - 575 Baling Debut and How We Haul and Stack Hay

In this video we are baling the yield contest field at my dads. Baling with the New Holland 575 being pulled with the Kubota M125X. The baler has the new Gandy box and dad is putting on silo king dry preservative on the hay as we are baling. I also start picking up out of the field with the New Holland 1032 Stackliner pulled by the Ford 7600. We are cranking out some hay off this field and we really had a lot of fun and enjoyed getting the hay in the dry. I had to cut out early but I’m the next video we will get the rest of the hay put away and come up with a final bale count for the contest. Then I’ll have a short video announcing the winner of the contest.

Yeah that’s where the Tedder came from and I buy parts and my preservative there as well. Dads Krone mower came from there too
My 570 had short tails on the knots.
I loosened the tension at the twine box.

How does one pound out 7 bails in 1 minute?
Are you saying we weren't baling 7 bales/minute? Or are you just asking how we got hay that thick? I believe the video shows that we are doing at least that. Portions of the field I think we were more than that. The biggest thing is to have good thick hay and big windrows, good hay and plenty of fertilizer. At 7 bales/minute this baler isn't being pushed hard, that is over 13 flakes/ bale. I like to keep it around 12 flakes in a bale. You can get by with 10 flakes but you're going to see more variable lengths and any lower than that and you're really pushing the bales harder than you should.

We could have shortened the drawbar.On the ford tractor. I couldn’t tell in the tractor, but that baler was banging pretty loud.

Thx for sharing this video, sure is nice heavy hay. What grasses are all in that hay? Was wondering why all the bales that you loaded are way longer on the cut side? What do think made the trip arm get out of place like that? Plz farm safely my friend.
It has orchard grass, ryegrass, and a little alfalfa and clover. The alfalfa and clover is pretty sparse at this point. I think the bales are shaped that way because the packer forks needed to be adjusted. But I wasn’t there when we started and we were just trying to get the hay baled. I think these windrows are bigger than the previous owner baled. Adjusting the packer forks should be able to move more hay to the left side of the bale. As for the trip arm I’m not sure really. It may possibly have a little too much play where the arm pivots. That’s the only time it happened though. We will keep an eye on it and see if we need to do something with it. Thanks
