Joydeb Goswami a devotee of Radha Krishna was a poet, musician, dancer, narrator. His Geetgobinda one of the finest and valuable literary works ever written in Sanskrit has been contributing a great in Hinduism. Love of Radha Krishna is the theme of Geetgobinda.
His birth place Joydeb Kenduli is situated at the bank of river Ajoy in the district of Birbhum, West Bengal. In makar sankranti, the last day of Bengali month Paus (15/01/2019) the baul mela is held for three days and this is the largest gathering of bauls, a group of mystic minstrels, who are the bearers of a unique of musical tradition with their musical instrument ektara or dotara. This baul community is included in the list of "Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO.
During this mela (exhibition) lakhs of people are visiting not only from different parts of India but also from different countries.
