Sad day people. He lost his spot at the top but it was a good run. I will always remember 2023. 1) US OPEN victory revenge against Danyl 2) Cincinati rematch against Alcaraz 3) Revenge against stupid COVID rules 4 titles where is was banned (Brisbanne, Melbourne, Cincinatti + US open. And bonus Revenge against Rune in the Paris Master.

I don't know why but it feels like Djokovic withdrawing from the French takes all the air out of the balloon for the rest of the tournament. I don't care who wins. Am I the only one who feels this way? The only match I look forward to is Sinner vs. Alcaraz. Still, congrats to Sinner for being the new world's #1.

Im still gonna watch the sinner-alcaraz semis but I feel the same j dont care who comes out of the top half. If alcaraz was on the other side of the draw i think i would feel differently but this is very unfortunate news

Not really. Alcaraz or Zverev was going to win RG regardless

I was SO THRILLED to witness him BATTLE in these latter stages.... The absolute best final would have been a Sinner vs Djokovic re-match, and absent the injury, Nole had a solid chance to win... Still shocked he withdrew, it's definitely not the same.

knee injury can be lingering. Ask that to Federer. Cross my fingers that it is not too serious

really sad to hear this, but glad he made that decision without hesitation, so wishing him a speedy recovery, hopefully, he can be on time for the Olympics, first was federer now nadal in on the verge or retiring, as days pass by we have less time around these guy, so we really should appreciate the effort theyre doing like federer did to come back like nadal is doing and like novak is starting to do, but we dont see that, we sometimes just criticise people blinded by favoritism and not by being real tennis fan who are passionate about this sport, so stop saying that he fakes injury , shame on people who always want the worst for him, shame on them your hate and anger is more powerful than tennis so you are no real fans, just haters, how can we hate this guy how can we not appreciate what he is doing, that is so ridiculous, but I know when all is said and done a few years from now we will appreciate them more, like we do when people leave us ,

Correction. Djokovic is STILL THE NO. 1 NOW. Sinner WILL BE NO. 1 on Monday. Please make that clear.

Wawrinka Thiem have a win rate of 61%. To be no. 1 you need a win rate of atleast 70%. Sinner has a win rate of 74%.

Take it with a drop of water in a pot if it was bothering him for a few weeks then he really hurt it in the match it won’t be a minor problem.. it was minor 4-6 weeks ago that’s when he should have rested

Will Casper Ruud be considered a favourite now. especially from having a quarterfinal walkover?

Not a full tear, or he wouldn’t be able to play. If it’s a big tear and he was able to play like that he needs to reevaluate how strong painkillers he uses.

NO ONE IN THE HISTORY OF THE TOURNAMENT HAS PLAYED A MATCH UNTIL 3 A.M.(OUT OF COMPLEX IN 5 A.M ). THEY CERTAINLY WOULDN'T DO THAT TO NADAL OR ROGER. WE KNOW THEY DON'T LIKE NOVAK , IS THIS A KIND OF SABOTAGE? SHAME OF THEM .

Novak is done. He will not play Wimbledon. He will play in the Olympics and lose as he has in the past in an embarrassing fashion. He will lose every other tournament he plays in this year. Stick a fork in Nole. Why didn't he retire in the match with Cerundolo? By putting up with some annoying pain and managing to win he secures 370 major wins, a record, and 59 advances to the quarterfinals in majors, a record, even though he doesn't play in the quarterfinal this year. That's why he kept playing. He knew he was going to withdraw from the tournament while he was still playing Cerundolo. Let's just see if he can get those records first against number 27 in the world before heading for the exit door. Fastest downfall of a champion I can remember. At least we don't have to see him crushed on the court by Sinner or Alcaraz. The stripping of that dignity will have to wait for another day. Maybe will get to see him lose to Ben Shelton, so Ben can hang up on him.

You didn’t know cuz you’re too young to assume the fragility of the aging knee. It looked very serious to me. As you say It may be a partial tear he can trim away and then rehab in time for wimby. But I really doubt it. Too sad. Olympics maybe? 🤞

You forgot to say how you were sure he was going to play 100%.. and why for the love of god you think he would give us his medical results. To prove to you!? ..others?

I think everyone needs to be reminded that nr. 1 yannick beat nole a few times and nr. 2 novak wouldve had to win the french open to stay nr. 1.

    • @juttaweise
      @juttaweise 8 месяцев назад

well Novak has been N° 1 for how long? That is a record any other player has to prove first from now on.
And here I'm not even talking about all the GS won. RG will be boring from now on and I don't care much
      who wins it.

Don't worry Sinner will not be anywhere near 428 weeks at No. 1, 24 GS, 40 ATP 1000. I'll bet my house that Sinner will not be playing at age 37 nor will Alcaraz.
