I think Ariel has the best voice. Jodi Benson was the right choice for her, I love her singing and her personality. Ariel is the girl I wish I had in reality and to go out with.
What a huge slap in the face to Paige O'Hara. She deserves to be higher on this list. She really did a great job embodying Belle's feisty and longing for something more nature.
I prefer the broadway vocals for Belle. Susan Egan has an absolutely delightful Belle. Later in the run when Andrea McCardle was cast it became another level entirely
When you look at who made the top five and the comments made about Paige the bias is pretty clear. All of the top five have the "modern" sound. The comments about the mid-Atlantic sound (which she said Paige was the last) have a bit of back slap to them.
I agree as well more than anything because they are comparing Paige's voice and style to modern female Disney singers. I'm curious to who they have seen singing like Paige does in this day and age. Most modern singers male or female Disney or not are 75% if not more all about singing runs and high notes. As opposed to Paige and many others shortly after during and even before showing off power notes elegant vibratos and ascending and descending notes.
Paige O'Hara should have been higher on the list. She not only sang all of Belle's songs, she was also her voice as well. I know the list is about the singing voice, but Paige had to have been convincing since Beauty and the Beast was the first Disney animated film to be nominated for Best Picture.
First to get a Broadway show ......first to get a live action remake (it's so bad though.....I am always shy to mention it)......got a "Live" event within a few years of the live action film.
I’m gonna say Scar , Claude Frollo , and Dr. Facilier are the best for the males And Mother Gothel , Ursula and Zira from The Lion King 2 for the females
Even after three decades, Lea Salonga can still perfectly sing "A Whole New World" & "Reflection". She even does covers of other Disney songs in her concerts. BTW, for those who don't know, several Disney princesses sang together for the song "If You Can Dream".

Thanks for placing Lea Salonga at the top, she brought us two of the most beautifully sung songs in Disney history. Mulan and Jasmine happen to be two of my favourite princesses.
Same mostly because I'm on the autism spectrum. I don't know how the makers of the Mulan live-action remake misunderstood Mulan’s personality from the animated movie. The movie was already a mess to begin with as my biggest issue was the movie took itself too seriously.

I still think Ariel's singing voice is the best one out of all of the princess's singing voices ( Jodi Benson is an accomplished singer). Ariel's singing voice avoids sounding like it's being shrieked at the top of the lungs. It avoids sounding loud and brash without softness, and it isn't forced. Instead, it's conversational, it's melodic, it produces chills at intervals, and it always leaves me happier after I hear it. For me Ariel is the most beautiful princess and at the same time she has the most beautiful voice. I love her hair, her eyes, and specially her beauty and voice. She is the most lovely princess among all the Disney princesses. Her beautiful voice encourage me to her. I can't say any more about her how much I say its not enough for her. One thing I want to say that I love all the Disney princesses but I love Ariel the most.
Judy Kuhn is totally underrated. Her best vocals might just be in Rags, a lesser known Broadway show from the 1980's that barely opened before it closed.
All these Disney Princesses have beautiful and great voices. Even Snow White, who's voice may be high pitched and sweet, is perfectly fitting for her character.

159: Belle is my ultimate favorite since I was a kid. It’s not just my love for Beauty and the Beast but it’s Belle. She’s brave, cares for her father and wants to be in the world
They're all great (even Adriana, though she is a super soprano and WAY out of most ranges). But given these parameters, I'd have to go with Belle or yes, Ariel. (I lean slightly toward Belle because she's more in my vocal range, plus, she's my favorite princess).

I actually liked "Sing, Sweet Nightingale" a lot better than the more saccharine songs in Cinderella! Especially all of the stereophonics of the bubbles singing along!

8:30 No no. Listen to the audio commentary. Judy Khun was never supposed to do the dialogue. She recorded the temp track for the songs. They always intended to cast native americans for the voices; they then cast Bedard as the speaking voice, and while trying to cast a "singing voice" to match Bedard's, they realized Judy's was a really good match already, so she re-recorded the songs.
Idina Menzel’s songs are beloved for a reason; she’s the goat. But that actresses who played Megara in Hercules is pretty underrated. Another good one? Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. That’s a voice that owns the room right there.

All these Disney Princesses have beautiful and great voices. Even Snow White, who's voice may be high pitched and sweet, is perfectly fitting for her character.

They're all great (even Adriana, though she is a super soprano and WAY out of most ranges). But given these parameters, I'd have to go with Belle or yes, Ariel. (I lean slightly toward Belle because she's more in my vocal range, plus, she's my favorite princess).

I think this list is more about the real performers instead of the characters. Otherwise, Jasmine & Mulan wouldn't have been ranked together.

8:30 No no. Listen to the audio commentary. Judy Khun was never supposed to do the dialogue. She recorded the temp track for the songs. They always intended to cast native americans for the voices; they then cast Bedard as the speaking voice, and while trying to cast a "singing voice" to match Bedard's, they realized Judy's was a really good match already, so she re-recorded the songs.
