This plane was conceived in the 1950’s and was way ahead of its time
Weckt schoene alte Erinnerungen. Damals hat das fliegen noch wirklich spass gemacht. Ich gehoere zu den lezten gluecklichen Piloten die die Caravelle noch fliegen durften. Als junger Co-pilot bei Istanbul Airlines.... :):):)
Heureux de voir une vidéo tournée dans une Caravelle ! Elles sont si rares. J'ai eu le plaisir de voler plusieurs fois sur cet avion génial dans les années 60' sur la ligne Bordeaux-Alger...Souvenirs impérissables ! Depuis, j'ai volé sur Dassault Mercure et sur Airbus A320, je n'ai pas retrouvé le confort et la place aux jambes comme dans la Caravelle... Le général de Gaulle ne volait que sur Caravelle...!!! Merci du partage.
Danke für das Hochladen dieses Videos! Ist wirklich eine Rarität! Habe mich auch über das Aufnahmedatum gefreut, da ich mich noch gut an diesen Tag erinnern kann. Es war mein 10. Geburtstag! :-)

This brings back great memories of flying in a gnarly, noisy, narrow tube of shiny metal. I'd give anything to fly in one of those old birds again. No cockpit door, wonky speed brakes, warts and all.

Da war die Welt noch in Ordnung. Riem gabs noch, geraucht wurde auch noch im Flieger und die Cockpit Tür steht offen. Wo ist die alte Zeit geblieben
...die gibts nimmer wegen dem Islam....da konnte man noch zur Stewardess sagen, dass man Privatpilot (z.B. ich) ist und durfte zu den Herren ins cockpit vor und zusehen und mit denen reden.
Die perfide Idee, ein Passagierflugzeug als Selbstmordwaffe zu nutzen, ist auch heute noch denkbar, es ist nur schwieriger geworden. Leider bin ich kein Pilot aber ich durfte damals trotzdem ins Cockpit und Filmen😀
Love it! Caravelle was the first plane I was on in 1987 as an 8 year old. Glasgow - Pula, Yugoslavia (Croatia) 'Adria Airways' Flight number 162 (I never forgot it). I recall the open cockpit and the pilots invited kids up right in the cockpit - it was awesome unlike today!
Herrlich diese alten Aufnahmen aus Riem - German Wings MD 83, PanAm A310, DAT Embraer - und natürlich die geniale Caravelle der AeroLloyd. Ich stand damals fast jede Woche als kleiner Bub am Schwablhofweg in Trudering und sah genau diese alten Krachmacher - vermisse diesen alten Riemer Flughafen.
No cockpit door? I love it! I flew into the old Munich airport the year prior and had forgotten it's uniqueness. Great spotting!

Tolles Video, die Zeit als man noch in´s Cockpit sehen konnte bevor die Mulla´s mit ihren Anschlägen alles kaputt gemacht haben. Schöne unbeschwerte Zeit.

My first flight ever was on a Caravelle 1967 Stockholm- Palma
This took me back I flew in an Aero Lloyd Caravelle from Munich to Fuerteventura in November 1984, it was a nearly 6 hour flight.

Multiple times flown with this type of Caravelle: with LTU to Rhodes old Maritsa airport! I was also on the last flight back to DUS before the LTU Caravelles were retired and sold to Turkey. Later then with the Tristar ...

Brings back memories. Everybody that flew in Athinai Control at that time remembers " (flightnumber) report heading and distance skopelos". They did not have radar at that time so they were asking all aircrafts for position all the time.

War der erste Flug meines Lebens ins Ausland. Von Düsseldorf nach Ibiza mit der LTU um genau zu sein. Später dann als ich älter wurde habe ich noch endlos viele Flüge in alle Welt unternommen. Aber an keinen dieser Langstreckenflüge habe ich noch so eine starke Erinnerung wie an diesen Flug.
Tja, war halt er erste und dadurch auch der spannendste Flug für mich.

THE most beautiful looking aircraft. I flew on one of Air France's and once on Swissair night flight LHR - Zurich. Sorry when these elegant planes were replaced by more prosaic looking aircraft.
Remember taking my last ever flight on a air France 727 from Heathrow that year, when we arrived at Charles de gaulle spotted caravelles air inter I think?.
Oh the nostalgy. I loved Caravelle. Flew on it many times (Finnair). There were so many different aircraft makes in those days in Europe it's unbelievable. Today, Airbus and Boeing....boring.

die war schon mindestens 25 Jahre damals war das normal
25 Jahre ist kein Alter, die SAC sahen eben nur alt aus. Einem Airbus oder einer Boeing sieht man erst auf den 2. Blick das Alter an.

Couldn't finish due to almost constant camera movement!
Früher war Fliegen noch was Besonderes, man hatte sich sauber und ordentlich angezogen, heute fliegen sie in schlunzigem Outfit, kommen besoffen in den Flieger, pöbeln rum.
Bis nur auf 27000 Fuß (FL270) geklettert...Schwergewicht. Max payload. 🇩🇪

Great film of a Great airplane! The Caravelle I have not flown yet. At ARN there are three, but none are airworthy. The music was bad, bad, bad. Lol!
