Reminds me of the old Eden 500 series of external canister filters for nano tanks. They were brilliant and you can’t get them anymore. Good to know this one’s a great replacement. Thanks for the review.
nice little filter, but, i would put the sponge on the intake side and put biological media on outtake side so its clean by the time it leaves your canister, if that makes sense
These filters are the same as the Zoomed 10 nano. I've been making my own lily pipes out of clear PET plastic tubing with no 90 ' angles just smooth radiused bends which great improves flow. Every 90" in a water line adds 1 ft of head in a lifting water situation however can filters don't have head just friction issues which slow the flow. The smoother your water lines are the better the flow.
Thanks for the review bro. I have one too but the thing with mine is that it doesn't stop making noise. Like every 30 seconds it makes this noise like it's sucking in air and I just don't know where the air could be coming in from. It went away as the mesh cotton I put in there got dirty and outflow slowed. I cleaned it yesterday and the noise is back and stronger than before. I love it the filter but I'm about this close to going Office Space on it.
NVM! After I posted this comment, I clicked your link to Amazon and someone had the same problem. He said he removed that tube inside and everything was peachy. I did as he said and wow, 30 seconds later this thing doesn't make a sound.
Gonzalo Marcote I never hear it. I would say it’s very quiet. The only time it’s noisy is during set up but that goes away once it’s full of water then it’s almost silent.
Great video! I'm new to the hobby and I cant figure out how do you clean the filter without the water spilling out. I turn it off, then when I try to open it the water spills out. Is this normal?
Far from the best all pond solutions hob 500/sunsun hwl 803 is 1/2 the price hangs on the back like a hob filter holds way more media then this the way the oasi filter is set up the bio media takes all the dirt and is literally mechanical filtration won’t do much biological cos it’s really smooth so they won’t support much put sponge where the rings are the intake take the sponge off and the tube and put some decent media in that section in a mesh bag
Just bought one on eBay for $25 bucks! It was an open box item, but looks like everything is in the box! Score!!

ive ordered one this week we still have it in slovakia and its much cheaper

I would like to see a side-by-side lineup of some of the top selling nano filters. Thanks for the info.
Another great review, thanks! You went for a small canister filter for the exact same reasons I'm looking at getting one.
Could you fit a oase heater from the thermo 100 in? Looks like it has the same blanking cap as the bigger filters.

@@wynconsortium what tube? the little tube, or the big tube in the middle of the sponge?
Can you show video of it running so I can see the noise level?
Looks nice for my nano aquarium. Could you please confirm how quiet it is? I'm very picky about noise

@@thefishkeeperist8216 Thank you! I am seriously thinking to replace my seachem tidal 35 with this external one
@@erlguta The Tidal is easier to access.
@@erlguta did yo get one, I'm super picky about noise too, how did it fare?
The attachments, such as the spray bar and the intake cage, were those included in your purchase of the canister or were they separate?
They're included BUT I only got one pipe, which I think I have to cut to length for the inlet and outlet
Amazing video
Will this work from the floor with my tank being 3.5ft up on a table? Will it have enough power to flow up considering its small size?

Mine is completely stuck I just got it in the mail and no matter what I do it won’t open
They need a real good tug. This is one thing I don't like about this filter as it's awkward to open.
looks like my zoo med 15
Appearance is deceptive.
this filter is in reverse order mechanical should be firs not biological
Many/most people with planted tanks don't see a need for a bio filter. Just debris.
Does this filter work on the same level as the tank?
