I just purchased the BenQ ScreenBar Pro. My first impression is good. One thing they could improve, is that I think it would be better if all control icons would be constantly dimly lit. When you sit in a dark room, it's impossible to see the icons, so it's really difficult to find the buttons if you want to change something. Not a huge issue, but something they could easily improve with probably just a software change.
Very nice video. I got my ScreenBar Pro too. I used it about 2 weeks. Almost zero complaint. Auto switch ON/OFF, some time I wish it could detect more far than this. If I watch movie, I prefer to sit far, in that situation some time it will turn off. Because it could only detect about 60cm. If you always sit very close to the screen, then it will be very useful, which I ageed. I like it don't need to worry about battery too. BenQ's product is expensive than others, but if it do could work for 5 years+, then I think it does worth the money. It does reduse the eye-strain, more comfortable, and easier to use screen longer. Even I turn on the ambient lighting, I still will choose it turn the Screenbar on. It just bright enough, even the lowest lighting setting.
I have a LG 45" monitor with a 800R curve. At this moment I have a Screenbar Halo but it is not great for this monitor. Any chance this will work with this much of a curve?
I don’t get why people keep saying these light bars don’t cause screen glare, the clearly do, you can even see it in the video as well. Yeah ok, maybe not as much as a traditional lamp, but still, demos like having a black screen and turning on the light and suddenly all your desk is lit up but your screen is still as black as before is just BS.
You can see for yourself in the comparison how the BenQ performs a lot better I'm not sure why this is being perceived as biased I lay the evidence and data in front of you
@@TheDankner15 There is one big difference (which is explaining the price difference). The halo has quite a big light in the back, that lights up your wall behind the monitor (kind of like ambience lighting). This is proven to further enhance the eye comfort when working on a screen for hours. I actually prefer the hub a lot, but dont really need the back light haha. I still went for the Halo, because you can switch the back light off seperately anyways. (And for watching movies its actually quite nice)
Bought a monitor light purely informed by RUclips videos. My advice to all readers, if you have even a sliver of doubt if you need a monitor light, you DON'T need it. My Xiaomi light is just a pretty and expensive accessory. It lights up, changes color temperature and can be controlled with remote control dial. Very nice, but I don't have a use for it.
I dont really understand your comment. It can literally be a replacement for a bulky desk lamp. I got a BenQ Halo and it lights up my entire workspace perfectly without having a big lamp on my desk.
Personally I think it's the best placement for a light. The light does not reflect on your screen and you don't get blinded by it. Have you tried one? What didn't you like about it? Where do you prefer to have a light?
And I can guarantee it’s not *literally* the worst placement. A much worse placement, that I think anyone can objectively agree on, is a lightbulb between your eyes and the monitor. ;-)
This is the review I wanted to see. Thank you so much for the comparison.
Can you do a comparison video to the previous generations, especially the halo model?

Thank you! I agree with you. I don't have that problem since I never watch movies at my desk!
Are you able to turn off the auto switch? Also how would you say the brightness is now?

It will be more or less the same as the screen bar Halo but this new mechanism is a lot more compatible with all types of monitors
@@JSyntax Thank you! It might be worth a shot as I had to add a make shift notch on the back of my monitor to get the light bar to stay in place.
Which Qintis light bat is it?

It is much less layer than the competitors though
Thanks
I can confirm that the BenQ Pro, despite its ridiculous price, is really worth it. What a difference compared to my Xiaomi!
Same... I just bought another one to replace my xiamo that I sold on marketplace
"precious real estate on my desk" - threatened by a knob? Really....
Very biased review in favour of BenQ. I wanted an honest comparison between all light bars!😮

bro that curve from your back aint healthy 🤣 0:25
Rude!
I wish there was a Halo in the comparison. But anyway, thanks for the review.
halo is good, i just prefer controls on the lightbar. less stuff on my desk and less worry for aaa batteries running out!
@@JSyntaxare those the only differences? The halo is like $70 more. Doesnt make sense since not having that hub to me is a positive

on the contrary, i found it essential to reduce contrast between my monitor and the surrounding desk area, which relieved eye strain

I don't understand why people are using these? It's literally the worst placement for a light.
It def helpful reducing contrast in my scene! I'd say it's helped with eye strain when used in conjunction with a bias lighting behind the monitor

Why do you think its the worst placement? I got a BenQ Halo and im quite happy with it
