Is it possible to recover any of the oil that spills during a blowout, especially in an underground blowout, where there is potential to tap in to the shallower reservoir? Is this something that companies do regularly, or hardly ever?
I've never heard of it being done. It's not likely to be economical to recover in an underground blowout and the volumes are likely smaller than you're thinking. Not too many are like the spill in the Gulf.
