  • BIG MISTAKE!!! Follow Trevor's quest to diagnose his HiBlow 120 Pond Aerator pump issue on his fishing pond. Part 1 We sure hope he doesn't have winter kill with his bass and bluegill after losing his pump.
Remedy: To fix the problem we went with a Hi-Blow 80 instead of a 120 and instead of running one single line out to the diffusers we put a manifold on the end to run 2 completely different lines. Then we bought 2 diffusers that allowed for much more air to be pushed through them. By fixing these 3 things this substantially lowered our backpressure and stress on the pump. This allowed us to add more oxygen to multiple areas in the pond and we still have the same amount of air running through the lines and also prevents ice in the winter from forming on half of our pond and in the summer it helps keep down on algae growth. Please let us know if you have any other questions regarding our setup.

Unless I missed it, what did you do to remedy this on your next pump install?
