A whole 60% of the way through the show, and he says, "That's the first thing that I heard that you didn't play perfect all night." Not a single battery mistake in the entire first half of the show!?!? Woowww, good job Bloo
+Michael Webster Just watched the finals video, you can see the moment where that happens, he dodges the orb and then a contra player while running back to the drumline
The top 3 percussion sections were superb. The Sanford award averages all 3 nights, and BD scored 19.48, Cadets scored 19.45 and Coats scored 19.35.....phenomenal!
Yep, which means the battery has to move to the front in order for judges to see and hear all of the technical parts. I think that’s a good thing in some situations like drum features, but there are tons of other parts of the show where the line is in the back or in the middle, which is where stuff is going to get missed. Pit now plays a larger role in scoring now, which also is a good thing
Just found this and thanks for posting Kyle ... I'm a Bluecoats drumline alum and this was *awesome* to listen to. I like Jeff Prosperie too ... cool guy and a great judge ... "That spock roll was ... CLEEAAAN" ...
+sullimd Agree completely on that. From a Rhythmical point of view it was very demanding, with all of those time changes and those intense beats they play, i don't even get how they march and play without getting off step. As for the front ensemble, everything was super clear and clean this year and it left the listener with emotion.
+WoahDrumFeatures It's very difficult to be able to have your feet not trust what your hands are playing, especially if the accented notes are not on the primary beats. Something i've learned from marching at Akron.. I believe when they play they get into this zone that just so high that when they march their feet is on auto pilot and they focus on the other stuff. It's hard to explain because I do it all the time at Akron. Though when I do play this book, the opener with the half time marching gets me.
Jaqwillin J Inferno was good but I agree. I was so bummed when it didn’t win back when I watched live but it wasn’t even my favorite show. Cadets and Coats shows were far better and more entertaining. Ink was super clean, too.
Listening to these with no knowledge of how these usually sound, I find it hilarious how these judges react to really well done stuff. The judge tapes my band gets are always just focusing on the bad and not the good.
PoohStickProductions probably because they want you to improve. At this point because its finals there is literally no more improving, so why not talk about the good for once?
ABananaPeel a tape of all positivity is completely worthless to you and your staff, how do you get more points if the judges aren’t giving any criticisms
@@aaronlaughlin2389 There's a difference between constructive criticism and only calling out the negatives.I agree that a purely positive critique isn't very useful, but I think some judges tend to only focus the negatives, and they fail to recognize what is good about the performance. The "perfect judge tape" should point out errors where they happen and give good criticism, but they should also point out where the greatness happens.
Tom Rarick...simply the BEST! Great job Roger Carter and all of the techs. The players aren't too shabby either :-) Auditions for Coats 2016 will be in November & December in Ohio, California, Texas and Georgia. Do you have what it takes... Thank you Jeff Prosperie. DCI judging at its best.
"I'm not even going to talk... Bravo!" Wow! The cleanest and most technically proficient drumline I've ever heard, and they pulled that off at finals. Bravo! I can only begin to imagine what it felt like performing out there that night. Congrats Bluecoats!
I know this is old... but gah damn. You should be HONORED to have been a part of this. So clean, so amazing. Respect to that judge! He knew exactly what he was hearing and experiencing 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
As someone who isn’t a percussionist it is cool to hear a professional put into words some things I feel when I watch these shows. And I love his enthusiasm! More of that in the activity!
This is my first time hearing a judge verbalize. I didn't know it was a thing, actually. But I'm only becoming familiar with today's state of drum corps. It's fun listening to him verbalize what I'm thinking, mentally. Bazoom ka deedle do diiit! And others. What a hoot! Was this the judge that picked up that snare that dropped off the harness during that one performance? And ran it back to the player and said you and me?

Mike Mcintosh rythm x 2009 touch.
my favorite “cLEAaaannNn!” and how sweet he thought it was you can hear it in the tremble in his voice 4:32
"The Spock roll was....CLEANNNN"
CSX8663 it was sexy
Yo
I wish the judge wore a go pro
i think DCI did a video where they gave jeff a gopro
You got a link 2 that? I need to see that
This is beyond late but there actually was a judge cam in 2001 (6:30) m.ruclips.net/video/BoMLUwrsocI/видео.html&pp=ygULQ2FkZXRzIDIwMDE%3D
Amazed how no one else caught the guard member telling him to get out of the way of the orb at 12:00 I thought it was priceless.

rip SCV
brichpmr SCV won prelims and tied coats for 3rd overall how are they not top 3?
Yes, their 3 day average of 19.35 tied Coats.
I'm pretty sure Bluecoats got second. Check the scores on the DCI website
+Nick Fenech this is the average of the three nights, not the finals score
"I can dodge an axe, I can dodge a sphere" hahaha. Love this tape so much
This drumline and percussion ensemble is pure fucking perfection.

Thank you for zooming in slowly on the 99 I didn't notice it before.

Sorry to say, but this book - both musically and technically - kills the Blue Devils.

+Breazeale Music with great determination and years of training
Breazeale Music *- With lots of "sharps" & double sharps.*
My favorite show of 2015 hands down
Ian Unsworth not inferno? this was a good show though.
The Mythical Beast ! Inferno overrated
No, inferno should have won. Ink was recycled BD that was clean. This show should've placed over BD.

Am I the only one that noticed that it slowly got closer to the 99?😂
+Gamer_Drummer Roasted
Wait what got closer to the 99?
He is referencing to the video doing a close up to the 99
Eric Metzger yes
This makes me wonder what discrepancies Caleb Rothe ended up hearing from the box.
+Jacob Cornejo Likely small alignment issues between pit and battery.
+TheJoeManToe +Jacob Cornejo yeah if you listen to the finals video, there are VERY slight discrepancies.
Hey, can you post the 2016 judge tape?

Kyle Tsuchiya awh that sucks. happy new year tho!
