On hot days, an awning above the Guard and horse, and why not an electric fan installed inside the box. Keeping both cool must become paramount, for their good health 🌞🤔
As an owner of horses, they do have bad days too. Beside it being hot and a lot of people. Much respect to the Guards and the horses. They look very sharp in uniform on the beautiful horses.

Thanks so much to all of those MOD police that helped protect that very upset horse, they need to maintain a good space around the horse so the tourists need to be well back from it. Glad he was taken back in. Good strides are being made here, the sign telling the idiots to not touch the horse, not quite under control but it is only a few days since it has been up, bit disappointed with the lacklustre behaviour of the troopers surely they should be telling the abusing tourists to unhand their horses. It shouldn't be up to the MOD police to take care of this, but thank goodness they are happy to step up to the plate. Hopefully there is going to be across the board policy that will be bought in where the guards will be able to shout or quietly tell people to sod off, don't touch their horse and point them towards the sign. There has been a very moot point, pointed out by commenters on these sites that having only one board means that tourists on the other side do not know they aren't supposed to touch the horse. These are wrinkles that can surely be ironed out, then a bit further down the line there can be a rule that people can only have photos from behind the bollards. baby steps I think but bigger strides to come, these poor animals will be grateful I am sure, and both their mental a physical health is far more important than holiday photos.

I have been watching your videos for about a year now and just subscribed. Very happy to see the sign changed to "Don't touch the Horse". I live in the USA and grew up with horses. My family has also been in the military since the Revolutionary War of 1776. I believe these horses are also soldiers, just as ours are in the US Calvery. It always bothered me to see tourist touching the horses. This video also shows how a horse can be confused by hearing a foreign language loudly yelling. Its unnerving to them. I hope your country finds it fit to permanently keep people back behind the posts as they do for the changing of the guard. Love your videos, love your country. God Save Your King. :)

I think they're going to have to add a red do not cross line or something because these people are still driving the horses crazy. Like the boy who started dancing, thinking it was funny. His movements made the horse WAY more anxious right away. Why do these visitors not understand that this crowding behavior is causing most of the problems?

They should have a ropeline or something. It’s actually not clear how far away one needs to be from the horse. It’s really strange that so many of the commenters are outraged about tourists coming close to the horse. Particularly non-English speaking tourists.

I think before it’s over with they may need to put up barricades to keep the stupid people away from the horses. When you see a horse pawing the ground it’s trying to say something. Like I’m anxious and you are to close. Back off.
That horse just wants to go back to his peaceful field where he can run & throw his hooves in the air & graze the cool grass ! Have to feel for them, they are not designed to stand still wearing nasty harnesses ! I would not much like that either !
The horses are on duty for one hour, three days a week. While on duty they are allowed to move position & do not stand still like a statue. Water is brought out to them. The horses go on gallops in the Royal Parks at least 2 or 3 times a day. Farriers, vets, welfare workers etc are directly on hand. In the summer the horses & guards go on a annual summer holiday at the seaside. The public stand well back & do not attempt to go near the horses & are very respectful.

An Asian lady was badly bitten and "fainted", called an ambo. Mind you, this was right after 2 women with her group had just been snapped at, she rushed the horse. It was reported elsewhere she complained to her embassy, don't know if that is true. Next day mod officers were keeping everyone away. Thinking that has spurred the new, and very welcome signage.
Too many try to hold the reins, get too close etc. And how many know a single thing about horses, and what they like, or what bothers them? They're not toys. They're a heavy, unpredictable piece of bone and muscle, and should be respected.
@margaretarce31 other things have been leading up to this, not just the Asian lady. Too much crowding of the horses have made even the mild manners horse start to bite
I wouldn't think so. Several have only been riding for weeks, not years, and most will be trying to control the horse with their less dominant hand. The bosses know this, they know that the horses can get spooked and/or have rough days. They have some understanding. What may happen, as we saw here, is the guard getting more instruction. If it consistently happens with the same guard, then trouble may follow.
