As a 3 year user, I agree with your review. pCloud is not perfect, but they get most things right. Lifetime deals on TB's of data storage was my primary draw, but secondly the way they sync between multiple devices is amazing, especially on the PC side of things and the way their service seamlessly integrates as a local drive within file manager. Their android app is a little clunky, but totally functional and getting better all the time. Over all though, its a real joy to have all my data with me with a high level of confidence. With regards to syncing issues, they do exist, but in my case, ALL issues stemmed from disconnecting or swapping out the source (synced) data hard drive. Though they recommend not using external drives (for that reason), external drives work perfectly fine as long as they stay connected to the PC or don't get swapped out. Presumably, their sync software creates an encrypted connection with some hard coded internal address of that specific hard drive and once the connection to it gets broken, sync gets wacky and by wacky I mean, you pretty much need to wipe all synced files (in the cloud) and start from scratch. Its annoying, but their security is clearly being demonstrated.

I just want to put it out there.I don't like being spied on by anyone. Right. However, being a law-abiding citizen, the thing that bothers me or worries methe most is corporations training their AI models off my writings my pictures my videos business documents . Then stealing my likeness and even giving away my ideas for free to anybody with a similar looking prompt. I know people are worried about this, and I don't think it's mentioned enough." I know many services say they don't" but can we really trust the likes of these corporations?
Enjoy the videos I think you are providing a great service.

I agree 100% with your assessment. The interface can be frustrating and customer support is lacking. Otherwise great.

I dont think it matter much that they are based in Switzerland, the servers are still in Europe Luxembourg and they are part of EU and EU laws ofc. They also have servers in the US.
pCloud is my cloud service and I'm really happy with them thus far. It works and syncs great between Windows, Linux and Android, and I really like the one-time buy even if it is more expensive.

It sounds secure, but unfortunately, pCloud is not open source, which means we have to take the company's word that our files are secure.
