Hi, new to wireless charging. These cases allow the Pixel 8 pro to be charged wirelessly through them without anything additional being added to them? I see some videos about having to install a ring.
Really appreciate the review. I was a Samsung s23 ultra owner, been Samsung for years but due to a series of events, I've just "gone google ". My case brand of choice was usually Supcase UB Pro. Again, I used them for many years, but the s23 ultra version just wasn't up to standard. The inner frame cracked when the phone slid off a sofa seat. I've opted for the Mous Case for my Pixel 8 pro. I realise the camera is exposed more than most other cases, but as I do with other phones, I will add a lens protector. I do appreciate that Amazon has a lot of "off brand " and "white label " products. I'm sure the majority are very good, but it's an expensive risk for me to take, so at least by going with Mous, they appear to now have a proven track record. I can back up your claims on Whitestone. I use their dome glass and camera protection on all my products, and they're exceptional, in my opinion. The Whitestone was my 2nd choice by a hair. Again, I appreciate your review and the efforts you make, Sir.
Incidentally I went for the Tudia case. Really pleased with it. Sturdy, precisely built and the mag safe for the car mount is great as my Kuga is short of cubby holes! Thanks for the tips.
I'm going to have to advise against the gatatol case - I've been through 3 now because the magsafe ring as a kickstand was very useful, but in each one i've had the ring itself has failed. the plastic breaks where the hinge on the ring puts pressure on it, and the ring will fall off.
You didn't mention how strong or how good you felt the Whitestone dome case magnet is. Is it close to the strength of the Peak Design case? Because The whitestone is the best looking and most protective case out of all of them in my opinion. And lanyard holes on the side are also a plus for me. Thank you in advance!
Oh crap! I completely missed the Magsafe test on this! So sorry. I am currently using the Whitestone case at the minute and it's the 2nd best Magsafe strength of all the cases in this video.
@@MichaelsTechTalk lol Eye said wow the only one that's cool to me is the only one he left out. But it's all good you were excited and the video was very informative. Thank you for the video and the quick response! Ordering one right now! 💯🕶️💜
WARNING: As the Gatatol ringstand (O-stand) case displayed here is also one of the only ones available in Europe as of today 03/03/24, it is good to note that it does not work with magsafe chargers, as the magsafe ring in the case is not properly aligned with the coil in the phone. As a rule of thumb, if you see the 'G' google logo on the back CENTERED in the MagSafe ring on a case for the Pixel 8 Pro, then it WILL NOT WORK with magsafe chargers. (the coil in the phone is actually placed a bit further down, placing the G more in the top of the magsafe ring with correct placement)
Love the mous cases for the P8 Pro, however the fact that the camera bar is not protected at all is annoying me. Why do these companies refuse to give us a proper camera back protection? (e.g. like the Caseology Paralax does).
I always buy the ArmorSuit MilitarySheild brand TPU screen and camera film protectors... Good price, always free replacements, shock absorbing, and self healing. You will wipe fingerprints more often than tempered glass protectors, but I think it's worth the trade-off.
The exposed camera bar is the direction coming from Google. It's the Pixel design identity. Case makers that have the official stamp of approval from Google will need to expose the camera bar. That's why.
i think the companies that partnered with google that can be purchased from googles store were told to leave the camera bar open to showcase the full camera bar as that design is what makes the phone stand out.
This has bothered me too, and I've often pointed to Spigen/Caseology as having much better camera protection. I can figure out why they wouldn't do that.
I have returned the tudia and caseborne MagSafe cases from Amazon for my p8p as the MagSafe rings do not align with the charging coils and will not charge via MagSafe battery bank. Would be good to see that MagSafe charging verification.
First time ive come across your channel and just wanted to say i really liked your honest opinion to these cases. Ive recently bought a Pixel 8 pro and got a £10 bumper case from town just to get me by as i look for a proper case with desk mounts etc. Ive got a screen protector for the screen and also one for the camera bar too, so the mous case you mentioned the camera bar isn't raised that much. Do you think that wouldnt make a difference if i have the protector on it? I like having a thin feeling case but at the same time i want good protection and something i can use with desk mounts, car mounts via magsafe and wireless charging.
@@MichaelsTechTalk Thanks. The only other thing of concern is the magnets on the Mouse case you tested in the video didn't seem that strong compared to the other 4 cases. Is that right?
Hi great video, I'm looking at buying the pixel 8 pro would you recommend it also using the Mous limitless 5.0 pixel 8 pro case would you recommend using a screen protector with this case or do the raised edges do enough to protect the screen, the same with the other cases you've reviewed?
Thanks for watching, much appreicated. I personally don't use screen protectors, but all the cases shown here will work with screen protectors with no issues.
Hi.. just found this vid Read some articles that said the pixel 8 pro wireless coil is just under the G logo, not centered....are all the case fit with wireless charging?
@@MichaelsTechTalkI heard you say something about the camera bar, but I wouldn't sure if you had mentioned about the actual phone. I'd have to go back and watch the video. Sorry but thanks for responding

I wouldn't imagine it would have much of an impact if you got a protector on the back. There's also the skin option for the camera bar as well.

Nice content as usual, mate!

How are the magnets on the Whitestone Case?
They are really good! Apologies i didn't show it in the video. That part of the video got corrupted.
Hi.. just found this vid
Read some articles that said the pixel 8 pro wireless coil is just under the G logo, not centered....are all the case fit with wireless charging?
Yes they are.
Why didn't you do the magnet test for the Whitestone dome case? Also any issues with wireless charging with these MagSafe cases ?
The footage got corrupted and i lost that part. But the Magsafe on it is decent. No issues on my end.
you never tested the magnets on the whitestone doome case?
Correct, the footage of the magsafe test got corrupted. But the magsafe was good on this case.
How are the magnets on the Dome whitestone case ? you skipped shaking it while stuck to the magnet on that one ;)
Apologies, there was an issue with the footage during editing. The whitestone had the best magsafe of them all.
@@MichaelsTechTalk Thanks for getting back to me on an older video, much appreciated ! Even more so since that's the one I'll be buying now.
I do own a magsafe Rhinoshield for the Pixel 8 pro. Does Magsafe effect the phone Chraging or Battry life?
No it doesn’t.
do all of these work with wireless charging? I tried a metal sticker for my car holder and that prevents charging
Yes they do. The MagSafe ring eliminates the need for any other magnets.
No magbak or Dbrand?
Nope
2 other great Magsafe cases for Pixel 8/Pixel 8 Pro: CasBorne and Poetic Guardian MagPro
How protective are the peak design cases for the 8 Pro? That's cool that the magnetic side of it is extremely strong.
As i mentioned, the only point i would improve on would be the camera bar protection on the back. Otherwise the case is great.
@@MichaelsTechTalkI heard you say something about the camera bar, but I wouldn't sure if you had mentioned about the actual phone. I'd have to go back and watch the video. Sorry but thanks for responding
So all of these cases are actually magnets and not just ferrous steel?
Yes they're all magnets.
Thanks for this Review Michael!
i was looking for the whitestone dome, but i only find the screen protector 🙁
Thanks for watching. The link to the case is in the description 👍
yea but if i click on it i get a screenprotector and not the case😟@@MichaelsTechTalk
any link to buy your magsafe stand please??
Link is in the description. 👍
Peak Design is nice but the corner protection sucks and the in car wireless charger does not keep up with the real time usage.
Fair enough.
Rhinoshield Solidsuit for me is great.
Nice! Trying to get them on the channel, watch this space!
*Watches Mous Limitless 5.0 mag test*
Peak Design it is.
Yes!!!
Gatatol? Sounds like an artificial sweetener
😂
