Stargate SG-1 is a military science fiction adventure television series within Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Stargate franchise. The show, created by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner, is based on the 1994 science fiction film Stargate by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich. The television series was filmed in and around the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The series premiered on Showtime on July 27, 1997 and moved to the Sci Fi Channel on June 7, 2002; the final episode first aired on Sky1 on March 13, 2007. The story of Stargate SG-1 begins about a year after the events of the feature film when the United States government learns that an ancient alien device called the Stargate can access a network of such devices on a multitude of planets and in space. SG-1 is an elite United States Air Force special operations team, one of about 20 teams from Earth who explore the galaxy and defend against alien threats such as the Goa'uld, the Replicators and the Ori. The series draws upon Egyptian, Greek and Norse mythology, as well as the legend of King Arthur. The series was a ratings success for its first-run broadcasters and in syndication, and was particularly popular in Europe and Australia. Stargate SG-1 was honored with numerous awards and award nominations in its ten-season run. It also spawned the animated television series Stargate Infinity, the live-action spin-off TV series Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, and Stargate Origins and the direct-to-DVD films Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum. Merchandise for Stargate SG-1 includes games and toys, print media and an original audio series. The show stands as the only US television series to have the full support and endorsement of the United States Armed Forces, especially the United States Air Force.
Richard Dean Anderson is the iconic star of the legendary 1980s television series MacGyver. He also played Jack O'Neill in the sci-fi classic Stargate, including Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe and the TV movie Stargate:Continuum. Richard has been peacefully enjoying a retirement from conventions since 2019, but he chose to attend a very special event to meet his fans alongside co-star Amanda Tapping. This rare and extraordinary event takes place at the Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show on December 3 and 4, 2022 during which they will participate in book signings, photoshoots, meet & greets and free on-stage lectures.
Amanda Tapping is a Canadian actress known for her role as Colonel Samantha Carter in the various Stargate series. A strong, intelligent woman in a group of men, she has become an iconic modern-day heroine. She can also be found in the series Sanctuary which she produced and in which she plays Doctor Helen Magnus. She can also be found in the hit series Supernatural where she plays Naomi, an Angel who has taken over the sky with a very specific vision.

I been a Star Trek fan since the start but had discovered SG1during covid lock down. What I personal love about SG1 was the Stars themselves, they made themselves available for People to see and hear them.
I wish there hadn’t been so much background noise. Very hard to hear. Love seeing these two having fun together though!

Chemistry between them is still strong... One of the reasons StarGate SG:1 was so succesfull.

I'd argue THE reason why it was so successful. The first season had some rough episodes, but chemistry between the four (and Don S. Davis and Teryl Rothery) was just perfect from the start.

Really enjoyed watching Amanda Tapping and Rick Anderson. But, really enjoyed watching Rick entertain himself on the side - so funny when he was playing with his mic. So much fun and good memories.

O'Neill with 2 Ls.... hahaha... Loved Stargate between 1997 and 2007, Loved SG: Atlantis and SG: Universe as well (shockingly best of the lot imo). Carter was spectacular. The whole show was insanely awesome. Such a shame it was canceled when it had such a huge fanbase and had at least another 3-4 seasons left in SG1, 5 seasons for Atlantis and at least another 2-3 for Universe.
