My pastor has recently chosen me to open service every Wednesday night. and its an amazing privilege to be honest. and since I'm the oldest youth at my church, I feel amazing because i will hopefully guide the rest of the youth to start doing somnething around the church and not be bench warmers.
Same with me.. My pastor did the same. I have to read a bible verse before starting praise and worship.. That will be my first Time .. Hope God Help me.🙌
Completely agree with plan what you will say!, because as the week goes on you can make improvements. I usually start with something to get our minds seeking Jesus, last week I started with the scripture in Matt 16, Jesus asks his disciples , "who do you say I am?", and I asked who do you say Jesus is? built on that a bit. one intro I wont do is the old stand by intro you hear at festivals and conferences "how y'all doing!!!!!"
Hei Brian, thank you so much for sharing this xperience. I love the idea, and will make my own version of it (in a different language) but the same guideline. In my opinion, I think it sounds much better with some PADS on background instead of the heavy piano presence you had at your presentation. Still very thankful
Typically I present a number of hymns every morning according to "Practice God's Presence" (Good News Publishers), a small pamphlet from my boyhood parrish of St. Faith of Havertown. Afterwards there is a prayerful breakfast, a blessing of my always sumptuous repast together with supportive prayer for our Ukrainian friends fighting for their freedom. Inspired by your syllabus, I am also going to include a prayer for all those who on every day of the week are the victims of homicides using our ever plentiful supply of assault weapons and those victims who will survive, often paralyzed, crippled, disfigured, and many in terrible pain for the rest of their lives. Why not? I'm a survivor of one such shooting here in Tucson in front of a suburban Safeway grocery store on 1/8/11. Let us not forget the 11/5/17 church shooting in Sutherland Springs Texas nor the 6/17/15 mass shooting at the Emanuel Methodist Episcopalian Church.
Thanks for your videos, they are of great help for people like us who have a small congregation, my question for you is; How do you select the songs for the service? , You talk to the pastor ?, or because they are recent songs?
Not to answer for Brian, but ultimately you are the worship leader the songs you pick to lead worship is completely up to you. Most the time what I do is play songs that moved me when I first heard them or songs that I think would move a group of people, such as 10,000 reasons or Ever Be. If you play songs that you like it will make for better worship because you are having fun playing the song and putting everything you have into it. As for asking the Pastor you could ask him what he is preaching about on Sunday and make the last song before he preaches connect with his sermon in some way that way the end of worship flows smoothly into the beginning of the sermon.
Michael Holbach I like the idea about communication with the pastor and sometimes they might ask us to sing a particular song, but in my experience, even when I haven't asked the pastor what the message is about (which is 95% of the time) the Holy Spirit ties everything together anyway which is way cooler! It makes it way more obvious that it is God's Word to us and not Man's.

Great...🤗🤗
With love from Nagaland, India ♥️ ♥️
We read a Psalm, and after a prayer requesting God to accept our gift of worship we start the service.
Tell people "Good Morning" and invite them to stand and sing and worship Our God.
