It's because the Oscars are nothing but a popularity show. It's not really measuring true talent or great films. it's whoever is "trending" at the moment. It's a hypocritical sham. That's why most of the great actors and great films have never won a single award. For instance, that is why actors like John Wayne, only won one award in his life when he deserved so many more... An Oscar doesn't mean anything... making an impact on the world and people, is an achievement enough, that needs no shiny trophy.

That scene when the Survivers place stones on his grave is sad and Beautiful,thanking him in such a simple way,for their lives,some with relatives. Such fine movie. It's not perfect but this movie did get multiple awards. If Liam did not get best actor, which I personally think he should have, then multiple producers and directors and cinematographers thought someone else deserved it more. Think about it, why would this movie get 2 or 3 Oscars, including best picture, but then at the same time not get an award due in another faculty due to whatever reason besides the award givers thinking it wasn't deserving

I couldn't help rewinding over and over again to the scene where your character breaks down into Ben Kingsley's arms, constantly remorsing the fact that you could have saved more lives. It made me cry every time. This is truly an epic film. An ordinary man who performed an extraordinary feat, and to whom generations of Jews are forever indebted. An overwhelming amount of love and respect the Jews still have for Oskar Schindler. And to be buried in the land of the Jews, despite being a member of the very party that wanted to exterminate the race, is an honour very few could achieve in a lifetime.

People come across things at an early age, sometimes too early, but it should be as an individual. Not part of some "everybody must watch this, everybody must have the same reaction, everybody must be educated" and that's what happens far too often. And judging by the current politics amongst youngsters, it has backfired badly. I was born in the sixties, what we are seeing now in colleges would be unthinkable to my generation. Yet we weren't "lectured" in the way they are now.
I was doing my GCSE's years ago and we were examining WW2, and we got to watch Schindler's List. Some very emotional, but great, moments in the classroom

I must agree with Liam Neeson that the story of Oskar Schindler should be taught in schools. I had the unfortunate to not know about Schindler when I was in high school, and I wished my history teacher would have brought him during our lessons on WWII and on the Holocaust. I would even bring Schindler's story to my students if I was a teacher.
I think this movie needs to be showed more in schools to educate people about the holocaust as it got showed to me in high school back in 2005 it made a huge impact on the students and I will never forget that moment when I watched it in school for the first time
Now I know why I was easily flabbergasted when I learned that history lesson during my college education on how the MPAA ratings system actually started! It has easily come under fire by being somehow treated as a set of barriers from whichever audience any film in particular most likely deserves to be shown to, because the Holocaust is arguably considered to be one of the most significant events in which adolescents under 17 are expected to learn about, at least in the case of my respective experiences growing up. In fact, I admittedly thought it was perfect timing for the 25th anniversary reissue to occur right around the time time as the ratings system's 50th anniversary!
I was expecting the wave of teens who were supposedly ushered over to the theaters to see this particular reissue (especially those that have not yet reached the magic number of 17 at that point, which should serve as an obvious hint) were informed that it was exactly twice as long since a certain milestone in the film industry entered the scene that was somehow seemed essential in order to make that type of experience a reality thanks to a mind-blowing history lesson I was lucky enough to learn about during my college education, hence the reason why I thought I'd refer to the theaters for that particular reissue as "sardine tins of teens."

As the saying goes: Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Seeing the past atrocities unfold to us, with modern films especially, shows us why our history is so important; many conflicts are born from hatred, ignorance and greed. If we don't learn anything from history, we would only be perpetuating this cycle of pain and suffering. But just like atrocities, there are small sparks of hope in these bleak, dire and hopeless points of history. Schindler was one of those who did everything in his power to save as many lives as he could, proving that though humans may be capable of such abominable acts, they can also do much good. To quote the film, "whoever saves one life, saves the world entire".
That's Hollywood!!! It's become a washed up relic just doing remakes of films. No imagination in Hollywood anymore. Just "Make it fast and get it out there"! You can't even afford to go to the movies anymore. When I was a kid, I remember great movies we could see for $2.00 at a Saturday matinee. Now you damn near have to mortgage your house just for a night out at the movies! Today, I just wait for it to come out on T.V. and watch in the comfort of my own home.

I understand how horrible the Nazis treated the Jewish people. The most horrifying part of the movie was the bodies being dug up and being burned. The best part was your breaking down and crying when your character couldn't save more lives. That was powerful and great acting. Thank you for portraying him Mr. Neeson.

Nobody with any sense disputes the horrors of WW2. What bothers me is the actions of Israel, in spite of what the were once subjected to. I believe the opposite of "Whoever saves one life saves the world entire" applies, too.

As the saying goes: Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Seeing the past atrocities unfold to us, with modern films especially, shows us why our history is so important; many conflicts are born from hatred, ignorance and greed. If we don't learn anything from history, we would only be perpetuating this cycle of pain and suffering. But just like atrocities, there are small sparks of hope in these bleak, dire and hopeless points of history. Schindler was one of those who did everything in his power to save as many lives as he could, proving that though humans may be capable of such abominable acts, they can also do much good. To quote the film, "whoever saves one life, saves the world entire".

Absolutely ridiculous that Tommy Lee Jones won for Fugitive over Liam. Tommy is great but plays the same character pretty much every movie
That's Hollywood!!! It's become a washed up relic just doing remakes of films. No imagination in Hollywood anymore. Just "Make it fast and get it out there"! You can't even afford to go to the movies anymore. When I was a kid, I remember great movies we could see for $2.00 at a Saturday matinee. Now you damn near have to mortgage your house just for a night out at the movies! Today, I just wait for it to come out on T.V. and watch in the comfort of my own home.

I understand how horrible the Nazis treated the Jewish people. The most horrifying part of the movie was the bodies being dug up and being burned. The best part was your breaking down and crying when your character couldn't save more lives. That was powerful and great acting. Thank you for portraying him Mr. Neeson.
