I was maidenless till I read Malazan.
I just saw a reddit post the other day that was "book recs like Elden Ring" so this is perfectly timed. I'll have to check out Fevre Dream, I'm looking for more stand-alone books at the moment so that one sounds great!
that’s exactly what i’ve been looking for books similar to elden ring, been searching for a youtuber to mention and see elden ring lore and fantasy book similarities.
great video
Thanks!
So glad not to be the only person who just couldn't get into the Dark Tower series! Also ngl I've never had an interest in ASOIF, but Fevre Dream sounds right up my alley. Thanks for the recommendations. 😁👍
I wish I could play Elden Ring, it looks great, but "proper" gaming is just too expensive and time consuming for me these days. I've become a filthy casual. 😂
I made it through the Gunslinger, but I was forcing myself to read it toward the end. I've tried to read the Drawing of the Three several times now, but I can't bring myself to do it.
It's ok dude, I'm maidenless too. Finally got the game though, so hopefully not forever.
haha good luck with the game mate! It's pretty rough, but even a casual like me made it through (without resorting to a magic build) so you should do fine
Thanks for the recs ☺️ happy reading 📚
Haha pleas stop adding more books to my TBR, it’s already out of control 😂😂
Great video! Question for you however; Have you or your community heard of the Book of the New Sun series by Gene Wolfe? Would you recommend it/not?
Gene Wolfe is a fantastic writer and I've heard a lot of good things about that series, so absolutely!
I'm 2 years late but I found book of the new sun in search of something with "dark souls vibes" and I HIGHLY recommend it. I wouldn't say the lore is reminiscent of dark souls as much as the storytelling is. the narration is sometimes very vague due to Severian mentioning things as if you're of his time and already know what he's talking about. the worldbuilding is incredible and you really get the sense of being part of this big scary confusing world that you know nothing about, as with the soulsborne games. it's hard to read sometimes, mostly due to intentionally confusing language and pacing, but once you realize that that's part of the draw, it becomes easier to skip over things you don't understand and just enjoy the story. if you like reading item descriptions and piecing together the larger story in dark souls, I think book of the new sun could be right up your alley. if you do decide to read it, or have already read it, make sure to read urth of the new sun, as it's pretty much just book 5 of botns
thank you for the amazing recs never knew George R R Martin wrote a vamp book I must give it a go.🤣🤣🤣
I threw gunslinger across the room, hated it. But the other books in the series are mostly great.
Hmm, I never pegged you as a souls/borne fan. Not because the games are challenging, but because the stories are more subtle than something like The Witcher. #TodayILearned
That's fair! This one was actually my first souls game, as enraging as it was I did love it 😂
Awzum vid! 😎
