Those were crazy shots to watch slowed down, on the first it literally looks like it just grazed the hair right on the top if it’s back then hit the tree branches behind it. When you see it again you can almost see it. The second shot was so hard to judge but I’m certain it was a miss. It’s so hard when you have those down hill shots, I’ve never had 100% confidence in shots like that. Great effort, I love a good hunt successful or not!
If you get a bear or not you are in some of the most beautiful area I have ver seen. Looks like your shot at the bear it hit that dead tree slightly to the right of the bear.
I mig honey oats and raisins in peanut butter .when I worked on ski lifts in the summer I always had some sort of peanut butter mix in my pack .never know when u will need to clime out the basket down the tower and hike out or go hike the chair line inspecting .calorie dens and watter filter are kea .
if i remember correctly he uses a 243, which is a good caliber for cougar. Smaller even better, since you dont want to destroy the hide or especially the meat.
@@Longtrailside One of his deer hunting rifles is a 6.5 creedmoor, his elk and bear hunting rifle is a 30-06. I think that's correct, both good cougar rifles.
@@johnsalazar245 You are correct on his hunting rifles 6.5, 30-06. Though he does use the family 243 rifle. The 6.5 would be better than the 308 and 30-06 due to the fact they are more destructive. Granted you can get 130 grain bullets off the shelf for both at a store, but the shot needs to be selective if you want to save meat and the hide.
You have yet experienced hunting with a dirtbike. Big game changer. Animal just looks at you like youre and alien and most of the time they give you the most easiest broadside shot because of the strange experience.
Great video! This deserved a wrap up commentary at the end. How did you guys feel about missed shots? What would you do differently next time? Going back again next year?
I can not believe you left your rain gear back at the bike. I laughed when you said the socks were wet and starting to puddle up water in the boots... Yep. I agree pure misery.. been there done that. I just saw a bear today crossing the clear water river.
As much as people could say "Oh its just a missed shot, youll get over it.." Well it just doesnt work that way. In 30+ years of hunting, I remember all of them vividly. But when you tell the story, everything else is to blame lmao.
Your videos is much better than Hollywood of National Geographic. I love every your videos. Thanks!
When you were talking about ticks- looked liked you had one on the back of your hoody. I lost sight when you pulled it down. Too funny.
Love how much content you've been putting out lately.
Samong dropping some heat last couple days LFG
I guess my $60 walmart bike wasn't good enough 😕 😅 🤣. Looks like an awesome trip man!
Awesome video Samong! Keep up the hustle man!!
Awesome video samong!!! Two days in a row that bear must be part cat! Running out of lives tho. Great content buddy!! Keep it up!!
Nothing like a couple of misses. It just makes the hunt that much sweeter when it all comes together. Can’t wait to see the next episode.
That was an awesome vid brother!!! Bummer, but great content and greatly produced as expected! 💪💪💪🤛🤛🤛

As always great video man! Can't wait to see the next video of you guys getting that bear. Third times a charm?
Samong: You got me paranoid about ticks.

That's hunting for you Brother. Damn lucky bear lol
Love your content brother! What type of bikes did you guys use?!
Thanks! We were using the Bakcou Mule and a QuietKat.
I literally had the exact same thing happen on a bear basically... several years ago
Clean missed on both shots. That's crazy. That's a ghost bear, lol.
Fun hunt bud, nothing better than a good storm...
Aren't ebikes considered a motor vehicle and restricted from non-motorized use trails? Genuinely curious... not trying to hate i might buy one
Epic!
👍👍👍👍👍👍 lots of 👍👍👍😁
Nice video, How you like your clamp on brake?
Thanks for sharing Samong! I see you put a Witt Machine custom clamp-on brake on your rifle. I love mine. In fact Witt is all I run for brakes.
Great Video Samong thanks for the hard work , Was that you're Browning 30-06 ? The High's and Low's of a hunt literally .

Hunt on the e bikes looks awesome. Nice looking rain jacket. What brand is it?
how do you cook the meat? i had black bear before and i hate it..i cant chew it.. and E-Bikes are very fun.. i have 1 myself..
Cook it like pork and slice it thin against the grain, like any tougher cut of meat

What rifle/caliber would you use for mountain lion?

@@Longtrailside I would pick a 6.5 creedmoor or a 308

What kind of rifle were you shooting bro?
What rifle are you using?
Ok sucks you missed it happens. But how did you let the bear down?
What kind of rifle does your friend have?
My first season in Idaho this year and I sailed one over it's back as well. Think it's the low angle shot
Nice vid..BringOn Catch n Cooks .🔪
Hard to glass bears in Idaho when the hound hunters got em ran down in the thick holes.
What a damn awesome mission

We need some samong outdoors appeals lol

What caliber?
A distress call works to get them closer
Not in the spring.
Gun scope got dun fatal shot dude I've seen you make that b4 DUDE.
What the hell is this trying to say?
Samong you might be too hard on yourself there buddy!
A little hint. Don't beat yourself up when in doubt aim an skoach low. And it's no big deal. To miss
Thought I seen Red on That log behind it's Left leg can see where the bullet hits The log
Maj mas os aib bro.. should waited one more step.. zaum kiag aib 🐻..
That bear has been shot at before you guys.
Not only for the E bike, it's quiet
If you want to come hunt bears in wyoming let me know. We could collaborate
Samongs bear like like the shot skin it or got close to the spine
Missing is part of hunting. Gotta show the good with the bad to make it real.
Back to the range and focus on basics.
Looks like a new rifle, maybe need to do more cold barrel first shots to sight in better.
Go mountain lion hunting in Washington state or Idaho
Bear lycky day, i see bollett hit, miss a gainst and against, what thing is wrong? more practic.
hey that's why it's called hunting and not killing. you live to hunt another day
Never rush your shot ever if you have to wait for ever. But that was a lousy first shot
Part of hunting. Missing. Just shows it isn’t always about the fancy $6k ebikes or sig cross, can still miss and go empty handed.
