Normally i don't listen to people just talking. But i accuatly sat and watched you, not playing or doing something else in the background, but just watching you talk. You are really entertaining man :) - From Denmark!
so far i watch like 10 of your videos , you give good facts about japan and thanx to beacause me and 5 of my friends are in our 1 yr of college and were all going for architecture and we always wanted to go to japan since the 9th grade but we plan on comin over there our second year of college
Congrats on the marriage! I wish you years of happiness! As for the jfaq, I'd want to head to Japan with nothing behind me. Those you leave behind will only leave for more to be made. I'm not saying you should just vanish either =P or never speak to anyone again, but trying to maintain constant contact will only strain yourself. I really liked this jfaq a lot, thanks for posting!
Dude you are awesome. Thanks for the videos, I've had fun watching some of them. Someday I plan to visit Japan, maybe move at some point - we'll see. Have been studying Japanese on my own for a couple years and love the language but want to get my own business going before I move anywhere.
Those A/C systems are called Mini Splits here in the U.S. I've installed a few at the last company I worked for. They are great for small houses and condos and are very efficient. Fujitsu and Mitsubishi are the most common units in the U.S.
It was very helpful listening to you. Her situation is like mine exactly and what you said really makes a lot of sense. What got me was when you asked "would you regret it later on in life if you give up your japan dream?" and the answer for me would be yes. I would be happy to be with him , but at the same time, I would always regret that I never got to experience what it's like to live in japan and never took that leap. It's something I've been interested in since I was 13, and I'm obsessed with Japan, so it's hard to give that up. Either way i'm going to suffer though. :( cuz even if I go teach in japan, i'll be happy cuz I did my dream, but sad cuz i'm alone without the one I love. Sooooo i'm destined to be sad and cry every night *sigh* fml
oho, congratulations on getting married! One thing ive been a bit concerned about is that although I'm not in a relationship now, I just so the point in getting into one if the other person is not willing to come with me. It just seems like it will cause trouble, so I think I'll hold off on that until I get there. Definitely make time for the wife, I'm sure she appreciates that. Congratulations again.
thats was up congrats i plan to get merried too be next year or sooner wanted to ask do you like geting the gundams that you have to built or the ones that come already built cause i love building them shit
Unrested - I am currently living in Japan and I cringe when I watch Gaijin's commenting on everything, BUT your video has a lot of truth and I cannot stop watching them. Thank you for stating the truth about living in Japan. It's not the easiest life still, but it's worth it....well, you understand! Thanks!
yeah its different for all i suppose. i actually started looking for work here because of a failed relationship. now i am really happy it turned out like this. the one before i got here was really unexpected but i was lucky she was understanding.
Hello, I just found your channel, you have quite interesting videos, if I´m not mistaken you have a HG buster gundam back there? The reason why I´m asking this is because I´d like to know how difficult is to find a scale model store on the country side, I´m interested in Japan but also in scalemodels, so I just want to know if you need to go to the city to get plamo or there are options on the country side, great channel!!!
i was in two long distance relationships, because i've travelled around quite a bit...one man backed away graciously and we're still friends, and one wants to bash my head on a sidewalk if he ever sees me again...we learn from things like this and move on :) Congratulations on your marriage! Best Wishes! z
That could be the problem. The U.S. has new strict standards for insulation, heating, and cooling. Those mini split systems are twice as efficient as central AC and are recommended for condos and apartments.
Damn, your experience kind of mirrors one I once had. I'd been planning for moving back to Vegas to be in a band for like two years but about three months before I left, i met this super cool woman that was just... well, awesome. However, a plan's a plan, make one and stick to it. We kept in touch while I was gone through the phone texts and talking though oddly, not Skype. In any case the band didn't work out and I moved back after about a year. She even came out to Vegas to see me halfway into my stay there. The problem is, that I came back to the same city and it STILL felt like a long distance relationship. If that makes any sense. I mean, she was more affectionate and less cold or whatnot while I was gone. It's like as soon as I got back, she began spending the next two years pushing me away. I waited that long for things to go back to how they were before I left because if I were to choose any relationship in my past, it'd be that one. Yet, it just kept getting worse and worse. Being one to "take the hint" I tried to break things off but in a very diplomatic way, so that it would be better for both of us as clearly neither one of us was content, but then she'd cry and everything about how she doesn't want to break up. So it would go through this cycle where things would be turning to shit, I'd try to talk to her like an adult about what's bothering me, she'd acknowledge it and swear to try better, things would get worse, I'd try to break things off and she'd cry about how she wants to stay together and like a dumbshit I'd believe her... only to start the cycle yet again. For two years. Well, I began by drawing parallels to your situation, but kind of got carried away there. Jaja, my fault...
when you guys told me about that remote, I seriously didn't think it was gonna be that huge lol. Heeton and I were like "oh shit, a fucking accountant's calculator!"
Couldn't have said this better myself, Scott! Pardon the cliche, "Life is short!" If one has a dream that they long to achieve, they must go after it and be vigilant to the end! The older I get, the more I see some people who have huge regrets for giving up a "dream" or thinking that it is over. I could say from experience the tendency is, the older you get the busier you will become... So, there are times when the moment is ripe and you need to bite at it. For your user with the question...
this is very similar to my relationship dude, my girlfriend lives in the philippines and im in canada and we got a 13 hour difference going on. but in the end both people in the relationship have to have absolute trust in eachother and a strong will to go on. You cant keep accusing your significant other just cause your not around to see what he does, makes everything harder. anyways, my 2 cent's great video.
forgot to mention i get to visit the philippines every year to see her, so im pretty lucky in that regards. i dont know of anyone else able to do such a thing. But yeah, if your in one, just be strong!
your married? congrats! question: Does japan have the same law as America where when a person from another country marries a native they are legally allowed to stay in the country for as long as the want/become a citizen(not sure what the name of this sort of thing would be...) do they have problems like America does with people getting married just so they can stay in the country?
I wonder if maybe that remote thing is supposed to be wall mounted or something? haha Very good video though, you always have a lot of great information and insight. P.S. Are you going to fill in that other sleeve on your right arm?
I'm in love with that remote. It's perfect for someone with fine motor delay. I think it's difficult trying to keep friendships going let alone intimate relationships. I recently moved to another state and it is so hard trying to keep in touch with everyone. Already a few "friends" ignore my messages.
Wow, you're married? Well you seem to be incredibly open, zero ignorant, very knowledgeable. In my opinion, anyone bi-lingual or more has the potential to be an interesting person. Since you're with someone in Japan, and I trust your word, dude.. Would you mind enlightening me on something I've been scratching my head about for the longest time? How different is a Kokuhaku from an American kick-off to a relationship? And what are some key factors that differ both love situations?
Take it from an older person who has made some big mistakes, if you are young, if this is your dream, if Japanese culture, lifestyle, and language fascinate you and you want to learn and experience it, move there. Live it, Do it. You're young and the truth is you will get over the break up quicker than you think. If you don't pursue your dreams you will eventually have animosity towards your partner and break up any way. You are young, enjoy your life and don't make the mistakes I've made.
I'm pretty sure there's plenty of other awesome relationships that you can get into, once in Japan, is what I thought when I had a girl friend and was dead set on going to Japan, though the relationship ended up before, ect. So what you said makes loads of sense~ Great one!
sunday i am down to chill. might as well ask on here lol. gotta be on loads to keep up with comments and mails. send me text on the iphone to let me know what time..
Oh yeah and I meant to ask, why does that remote thingy say "good morning" and "good night"? xD Does it do something cheerful to make you feel genki in the morning or do something relaxing at night? haha
you got married!! where was my invitation!?..... Just kidding. But did you take pictures or recorded. man that would've been awesome for a JFAQ episode.
5*.Listen to Scott folks,he is dead on.I'm in a long distance relationship w/a japanese girl for over 3 years and we are together about 5 1/2 months a year...and people say our relationship is a love story?! Congrats on the marriage!
really? then it must be that japanese houses are not insulated. seriously cook one dish in the summer and your house is sweltering. and these places are super small here.
kool video man, im doing a long distance relationship with a japanese girl (the one in my vid n stuff who i met)..but Aussie time is only 1 hour ahead of Japan..so it aint so bad :) we are surviving with no problem at all..seeing her next year no doubt..and dayum @ that remote!
thanks for he gratz. yeah i love taking my time and building them up. i actually have a whole kit for it and even ink in every single line with the gundam pens. still, sometimes when i do a perfect grade i find then i dont feel like building one for like another 4-6 months lol. those bastards burn you out.
US to Japan relationship would be abit difficult, I have a Japanese GF and I'm from Australia but it works becuase Japan is only 1 hour behind,so we are in the same timezones. :)
well one thing i should mention is japanese are big on keeping their life private. also she works a high level job where it is not in her best interest to do so. alas i believe she will forever remain a mystery.
"If they can't support you then maybe coming to Japan isn't for you" Why should you give up your goal just because someone thinks you shouldn't do it. Having a goal in mind means that you'll accomplish whatever you have to do to achieve it.
yeah. I know what your talking about. You just sorta forget about how busy you really are when your living in Japan. And I made sure I destroyed any possible girlfriend like relationships back home.
If you want to travel (doesn't matter where or for what type of job) and you don't do it to appease someone you will regret it. Even if you get married to them, etc., you will begin to resent them and that travel bug doesn't go away.
My ex almost killed me everytime I talked about my plans to go to japan lol but now I'm single an I don't have to worry about it haha now just money an education r my problems!
... that time could be it.
This was a great vid, Scott. I couldn't help but chuckle at 8:24 where your cat meows right after you finish speaking. : )
@nirvanapower1991 morning setting. oyasumi is night setting. you can make pre-set temps for those times of the day.
Normally i don't listen to people just talking. But i accuatly sat and watched you, not playing or doing something else in the background, but just watching you talk. You are really entertaining man :) - From Denmark!
Thanks buddy I really likes the videos u post and your viewpoints...so keep posting pls..👍👍👍👍
so far i watch like 10 of your videos , you give good facts about japan and thanx to beacause me and 5 of my friends are in our 1 yr of college and were all going for architecture and we always wanted to go to japan since the 9th grade but we plan on comin over there our second year of college
I like watching your vids at night time for some reason they give me a "dark" feel even though they are not dark
thanks for understanding!
Congrats on the marriage! I wish you years of happiness!
As for the jfaq, I'd want to head to Japan with nothing behind me. Those you leave behind will only leave for more to be made. I'm not saying you should just vanish either =P or never speak to anyone again, but trying to maintain constant contact will only strain yourself.

with things like setting up a good time how reliable is texting? how easy is it to text internationally?
The kitty meow was just on time, like Yuki was agreeing with you, XD
oho, congratulations on getting married!

Maybe the controller is for hanging on the wall and being visible by people of different heights? It is crazy big though! :)
hahaha the reveal of that remote actually made me laugh out loud. well done sir

verdammt thats some huge buttons, I think you got the remote control for the Gundam in Odaiba not your aircon man.
Haha that remote control looks like an adding machine that old-school accounts use :p
I plan to move to Japan about a year or 2 out of high school with 5 years of Japanese study at my back.
Me included. Tough times. I was seeing her for 2 years.
I'm pretty sure there's plenty of other awesome relationships that you can get into, once in Japan, is what I thought when I had a girl friend and was dead set on going to Japan, though the relationship ended up before, ect. So what you said makes loads of sense~ Great one!
There are a lot of things to do in Japan.
I know that by talking to a friend who lives there.
i prefer big remotes. i constantly lose those tiny size remotes.
sunday i am down to chill. might as well ask on here lol. gotta be on loads to keep up with comments and mails. send me text on the iphone to let me know what time..
