it would be really great if you could get your sponsors such as wahoo and ON to provide you with promo codes in order to get a product discount. eg i just ended up forking out another 135 quid for a pair of cloudflyers because i have 8 marathons over the next 3 weeks. A code like *GTNON* to give me 20% off would have helped both me and the company as it would get more people trying their products, leading to a greater fanbase and ultimately greater profits. Many youtube channels do this. so, could you have a word please because we all want good gear, but very few of us can afford it or have sponsors to pay for us. thanks
Alan Thompson Yes, they are easy to set, quick calbrating, baterry lasts long. As for now no problem indoors, with the end of winter i will check tem outdoors. Previously i had bePro and lots of problem with signal and accurancy. Now assiomas seems to be accurate and repetable.
TTate True. I wanted to notice that for the same amount of money You may have wheater wheel smart traner or pwr meter+old trainer (My set was about 0,5k€ and i think it is cheaper than snap) or for abaut 1k smart direct drive trainer with indoor pwr only. If You are beginner or good amateur without sponsors than money counts. IMO at the beginning it is better to invest in "human factor" (coach assistance, lactate acid meter, good food) thay spending money on gadgets. PS Still i think kickr direct is super cool think and if i had free money, than i would grab it:)
My recommendation is power meter plus fluid trainer. You can ride the power meter the whole year instead of keeping expensive equipment indoors and unused most of the year. My setup is JetBlack Z1 fluid trainer plus PowerTap hub & Zwift. Mfg recommendation is not to use a trainer tire. I just use an old tire from the previous year that still has some life.
Rollers are a great training tool however, at the moment, Wahoo don't have a set of rollers in their range of indoor trainers so we didn't have any to try out.
Thanks for this awesome video. I have the wahoo kicker snap, and I have a question. When I'm doing intervals, sometimes when I shift back down for the recovery portion I lose any tension and any power readings for about 30-50 seconds until it kicks back in. That's okay if I've got a recovery period of more than 30 seconds, but with a lot of the interval workouts, it's more likely that I get a 15 or 20 second recovery, so often I just end up staying in the higher gear for that period and pedaling a little slower. Does that mean that I've set up my trainer incorrectly, or is that just par for the course. Thank you.
I have a magnetic spin bike. My problem arises after pairing my Wahoo with Zwift. Not sure if you use Zwift, but let me ask anyways: During the Zwift setup, when you get to the page where they ask to "select your trainer," there is no option for the metal plated flywheel bikes like mine. What does one do/select then?
The levels of control are "Interactive" or FEC style (power data goes to Zwift and resistance for the trainer is sent to it from Zwift) or passive resistance with power where you only have a power meter to pair. The minimum is using a trainer with a speed sensor and then you "select the trainer" only so that it can reference a database to estimate power based on the reported speed.
You could include using a "dumb trainer" with a bluetooth bike mounted power meter such as stages. It's a cheap way to ride on Zwift and you get the same power inside as you would outside.
Hi there! I just got my Kickr Snap, but when I tried using it with my bike (a Cube Axial WS with disc brakes) I could never fit in the quick release skewer, it seems to be too short. Do you know what can I do? Is there any different skewer I can use? Thanks for your help!
Rollers are a great training tool however, at the moment, Wahoo don't have a set of rollers in their range of indoor trainers so we didn't have any to try out. and report back on.
It doesn't have to becmango. These are some great products from our friends at Wahoo however if your budget doesn't allow you can pick up second hand trainers quite cheap or maybe even borrow one from a friend.
Depends on what expensive is to you. You can get a simple trainer for $100-200 and be fine. Or keep an eye on Craigslist and get one real cheap. Don't always have to buy new.

Do you train indoors over the winter due to the weather? What's your favourite session to build strength for the summer?
How about GCN playlist ;)
Global Triathlon Network hour long blocks of low cadence 😲
Alejandro CARDENAS oi! 😜
I hate riding inside on my Wahoo Kickr. I decided to maximize my distance by going faster just to get it over with:)
I quite literally moved cross country because I hate both trainers and snow. Had a beautiful 3-hour ride in the low 60s last weekend. :)
Re-riding the course you actually did is pretty darn cool I have to say
Picked up a wahoo kicker last night. Slaying it baby!
Have you had a chance to ride on it yet?

My setup is: old Elite Crono Fluid and Assioma PWR meter, all much cheaper than kickr, and still have PWR outdoors:))
szczepanjrjr would you recommend the assiomas ?

You're right. I looked at the duos, but later noticed that the unos and the cost the same as the snap.
my direto has powermeter inside. In bike i've not a powermeter..It costs more two Diretos🤣🤣🤣

Hopefully you could create a fresh content of this for 2024.
Thanks!!
Can’t beat Elite, got a cheap fluid turbo & fitted BT sensor. Gives power cadence & speed readings, been good for rehab after TKR op
i love you GTN
Also wondering about rollers?

What's the one for apartments ? I need a noise free one
What is the advantage of the Wahoo Kickr vs Tacx Neo besides the price of course?
Noise vs silence

How do you go from 40 pound over straight to 50 pound one?

Did you ever find a fix to your problem?
When is the Climb going to be available?
Coming late Q1 2018!
Which is the quietest trainer
Aside from rollers maybe (haven't tried one yet): The Tacx Neo! No high-pitch, humming sound like the Kickr or the Hammer.
Probably the Stac Zero ( no contact with tire or rim; but only works with metal rim). Aside from that: The Tacx Neo!

What about rollers ?

get one in the off season or a used one, lots of ppl buy one and realise they dont use it
also get a nonsmart trainer
what happened to the roller trainers? too hard to ride?? get the roller trainer and learn how to ride in a straight line all the time.
Also boring try riding a 62km group ride on Zwift versus 3 hours on rollers. 30 minutes on rollers is plenty.
why watch this video when you cant even afford one
