- Excerpt from "I Believe" written by Mark A. Miller. Performance by the Youth Choir from Church of The Messiah United Methodist Church during their 2015 summer tour.
The text used in this piece comes from a poem written inside of concentration camp in Cologne, Germany during WWII.

Thanks for watching this video! I have noticed lots of similar comments so I wanted to respond to some.
Everyone you see in the video were members, or chaperones of the youth choir.
To our knowledge, no one was immediately waiting for us to finish singing or anything. The hotel was mostly empty so we did not get in the way of other guests.
We decided to sing just before the pool closed for the night, and most of us were still drying off. Thats why we did not jump at the very end.

This is truly amazing. If I were there singing the song, I probably would’ve burst into tears. The meaning behind those words from a poor prisoner in the holocaust gives me chills. He still carried hope when he was enduring all the pain and saw others die every single day.
I was in two choirs and this is what they, do It's the best part of being in a choir.

I immediately recognized Mark Miller because we use a lot of his songs at both of my United Methodist Churches! this is definitely going to be sent to my pastors
I remember finding this video around when it was posted, and through out the years I would find it, and be like, "It would be cool to join a choir one day, and sing this amazing piece." In 2019 I joined choir, and loved it so I kept on doing it, and I still do. After the pandemic in August 2020 I was surprised to find that one of the pieces we were handed that we are singing happened to be this, and I flipped out because it was hard to believe after years of wanting to sing this, we finally sung it. I shared the coincidence with my choir, and it showed because I was the first to memorize it. This made my already bad 2020 better, and I kind of want to go back because there were other pieces from that 2020-2021 year that I miss singing a lot. Good times.
