You know what ? I think I have watched most of the covers of this song, at least the ones that are worth watching and this one is the best one I have ever seen. I'm not gonna say it's better than the Chicks because that's impossible but it is very , very good. The Intro into the song was great. That hardly ever gets done right. The steel was dang near perfect and so was the fiddle player. Everything was awesome. Fantastic job. This is my favorite Chicks song and you guys did it proud. Thank You very much !!
I agree 100% with all that you say. However, what I would like to add is the whole modern day "recording" problem, where the listener expectation will always be the original. How can they be as good as the Dixie Chicks? They are NOT the Dixie Chicks. That should never be the expectation.
I am reminded of a Paul McCartney interview where years later he played "Let it be" and other songs at a concert, and he was told that he was not as good as the Beatles.
Now let that sink in.
