    Very helpful video! Helped illustrate the relationship between mass, volume, and density perfectly. I was a bit confused before, but now it makes perfect sense. :)

    Your explanation of why the aluminon foil box does not sink is wrong.
    1. the box is filled with air,
    2. If you have the same temperature and pressure density does not change.
    3. the aluminum box flotes for the Archimedes principle, that is why boots float.

    • @richardlouiechemistrylectures
      @richardlouiechemistrylectures  4 года назад +1

      You might have a point. At about 6:13 I point out that the box is filled with air. Since air is less dense than water, it floats in the water. I probably should have emphasized that the box is mostly air, and that the reason the box floats is because air is less dense than water.

      I used a wireless microphone that unfortunately recorded the sound in mono, so the sound only goes to one speaker. If one of your speakers doesn't work, you may not hear the sound. Sorry about that. Try listening with ear phones (you'll only hear sound in one ear phone).
