This is so interesting to see how much these went for a year ago! I'm watching because I just got my first ROF with lots of pretty sectoral variegation; mine was $25 and has about 6in leaves. Hoping Whipple Way prices will come down just as fast🤞😬🤞
Thanks for the informative video! I totally burnt half of all my leafs leaving my two ring of fires out in the sun after a watering. So sad, it still pains me to look at them but i do believe they should come back around.
So funny how rare plants come down in price. I saw a post on Reddit from 2 years ago from someone who paid $300 for the same plant size I paid €8 for today. Incredible how quickly prices come down.
Pro tip, never buy a plant at it's peak trend...wait a bit and they will always come down when more people start to propagate and grow it. I just got a ring of fire today for $16 at my local hardware store 😅 Again, NEVER buy a plant at its peak trend!!! Even the Thai constellation has dropped over 80% its original value. Some people have paid over $1,500 for that plant and now its offered at local hardware store for under $40!!! Pro tip is simple...have patience 😜
I assume ROF parentage is Jungle Boogie just based on the shape. Jungle Boogie is my best growing philodendron. Easy peasy plant. I was able to separate a baby from it when I repotted it and gave it away.
I may have to try a JB again one day. Those sawtooth edges are amazing. Just need to remind myself how little water they require in comparison to my other philos!😂🌿
I do not have a ring of fire. My Jungle Boogie also had those spots when I bought it and it worried me but nothing came of it. It appears the newer leaves do not have it, I ADORE my Jungle Boogie. It sounds like the ROF is way out of my price range.
At least for now! I'm hopeful they will be cheaper and cheaper in a couple years and more accessible to everyone 😁 I really do love philos with those sawtooth edges!! 🌿💚

I went to Sainsbury's supermarket today and for ten dollars (£7) I picked up a massive Dracaena variegata, and there were loads of other plants. I think things are getting better here in our UK supermarkets, Aldi has some great plants at times too. Great to see you as always, lovely Philodendron! 💚
I'm glad to hear things are becoming more affordable. It's slowly becoming that way here as more tissue culture is being done on "rare" plants. Hope you have been well !💚🌿

I'm seeing a lot of tissue culture on "rare" plants that seems to vbe making them MUCH more affordable. Here's hoping you get a reasonable WW !

Price has come down quite a bit. I got a non-tissue culture ring of fire in a 6-inch pot for $30 a few days ago.
I bought the variegated sapling less than 1 dollar sapling had 6 leaves .now it grows to 8 leaves.but i am really scared its a huge plant

My friend just went to Lowes and he found 6” ROF for $20. He got one for me and himself. They just came in and still in the box
