Good chorus, with great vocals, but I was really holding on for a totally different rhythmic change in the mid section and more of a breakdown perhaps. I love Northlane and really excited for the album but out of the four tracks they’ve released so far from Obsidian this personally isn’t my favourite. I think Clockwork and Echo Chamber have been the best so far.
I love how Nik doesn't say much when the song is playing, but I can still see the gears churning inside his head, analysing the music in a much deeper way than he is letting on.

The thing that must be mentioned here is just how little Mr. Nocturnal actually cares about his own marketing. The entire intro including twitch and spotify linkage in 6 seconds and then right into the video is fkn legendary. 🔥

i hate when people make this comparison, not every 7 string tuned low as shit is a mick gordon ripoff. these guys were tuning low low, WAY before he did it. he didn't invent 8 strings man. it's like saying every band who plays 7 strings is a Korn rip off. northlane has moved from djent to this crazy kind of club-metalcore/edjent. its badass. not mick gordon.

Also, octave jumps are often used in djent, as in modern metalcore such as Architects. All this can be heard, both in this song, and for example in Plenty, or Freefall, or Metamorphosis

Northlane knows how to make good tunes and the hooks are always there because Marcus is too talented and he is an incredible vocalist.
