I didn’t know the band before but they recently started popping up on my sportify radio (following a Dexcore playlist) and it’s one of these bands, even if I’m doing something else (aka work), I keep looking at my phone to check out the artist and title because it’s sticking out a lot compared to other random radio content. Really starting to dig it 🔥

Guys I'm not a musician but I love metal and there's this question that comes to my mind every time I listen to metal or rock : are there different types of guitar for rock and metal? Or you achive those really heavy sounds (like in metalcore or deathcore) only by modifying and distorcing the sound with a console or other methods? Because I can explain to myself how the same instrument (if it is the same) can produce both sounds for breakdowns in metalcore or deathcore and, for example, thunderstruck intro, or more in general "old rock" style of music.
also to add on to that effects and distortion are more central on the sound as well, sure you can tell the difference between different guitars through distortion but it's all on player preference honestly, whatever you like and sounds good to you can be made into something like this level nasty
While it is true what the others said. In metal they sometimes use guitars with additional strings which are tuned lower. (thicker string)
Or Baritone guitars, which have a longer neck and can be tuned lower.
But all in all it still is the same instruments at its core.

Got a chance to meet and talk to Aaron at a Columbus show. Super awesome guy, talked about how I practically grew up on Betraying the Martyrs and he gave me a free hat. I’ve appreciated the band so much more since that night. Metal scene has always been so dope, the people are always so amazing and I couldn’t be happier with the music taste I was blessed with.
