Materials:
-t shirt
-HTV (using Siser Easyweed here)
-Heat source (iron or heat press work great!)
-Parchment paper
*Note: I do receive a small commission if you use my Auntie Tay code or Amazon link to support the channel! Thank you!
Step by Step
1) Open Design Space and open a new project
2) Create a text box and write your text
3) Size the text according to your shirt dimensions
4) Once you have your text how you like it, WELD the text together
5) Click MAKE IT
6) ***MIRROR YOUR IMAGE ONCE YOU GET TO THE MAKE IT SCREEN THIS STEP IS SUPER IMPORTANT!***
7) Select your settings - for regular HTV just select Iron On
8) Put HTV ***SHINY SIDE DOWN**** on your mat
9) Load your mat into your machine using arrow buttons
10) Once loaded, click your Cricut button
11) Once cut, unload your mat and take HTV off your mat
12) Weed out negative space so that you are left with the letters
13) Put your carrier sheet with the HTV onto your sweat shirt and center or place it how you like (put the sticky side of the carrier sheet on your shirt - the text will not be backwards)
14) Once you have it how you like it, heat up your heat press or iron (for iron, TURN OFF STEAM and use hottest setting)
15) Once your image is ready to go, put the parchment paper on top of the carrier sheet and PRESS - don't move your heat source around just set it on the image and press
16) Peel off carrier sheet
TO CUT IN DIFFERENT COLOR: Using the color pallet in the top toolbar make sure you change your text to the other color if you’re planning on using a different color of vinyl or htv for one part of the text so your machine knows you want it to be purple and not black. So you’ll have a mat with one color and a mat with another
Is there a clear transfer material so you can do multiple color stuff?
mommyof3boys with HTV you don’t use transfer tape. Each piece of HTV will have its own transfer carrier sheet stuck to it
Ok. I found out for what I need to do I need to personally use the print and cut method
Lauren, I am old and on a very limited budget. Is there a place to buy vinyl from besides cricut or one of the other places that are all so expensive?
Mary Womack you can also order from Amazon. They have various vinyls and less expensive than Cricut brand. But be sure to read reviews before purchasing. 143vinyl.com is another option. I hope this helps.
The easiest video tutorials I found since I just got my cricut and I’m clueless.
This is very helpful thank you
I just purchased my cricut and have been watching videos. This is the best on this far. thank you!!!
I agree. This is the best and easiest to follow. Plus she isn't constantly trying to sell us something.
I just purchased my machine & watching this tutorial was SO helpful, thnx!
Just got my Cricut Explore Air 2(my first machine). I'm so glad you do detailed step by steps
I just got mine yesterday

“Don’t come for me”....that was awesome! Say it with authority girl! Truly helpful. Keep grinding!
very cute shirt & great demonstration!
This was so helpful, I've been trying to find videos that go through the step by step process without skipping ahead! Thank you!!
First video I see without all the chit chat at the beginning lol love the step by step shirt looks awesome!!
You explained it so easily I watched various versions and I was like geeze just shush thank you
I just made my first shirt following your steps. Thank you so much for making it easier for us the newbies
Yayyy so glad to hear that!
Did the logo stay after a few uses?, trying to see if I can do the same for my apparel business. Thanks
I just wanted to hop on and say that I am not your typical Cricut person. And this was /super/ helpful. Thank you so much. Also, I LOL'd when the camera fell.
im teaching myself how to use my new Cricut but, all you ladies sure make it easy to learn. Thank you for this one, my wife wants a sweat shirt with a cat on it. its gonna happen now. Thumbs Up.
I love that you leave in all of your bloopers lol your videos have been such a huge help
OMG thank you for this!!! I have been debating buying a cricut because I didn't know how hard it would be to use/make shirts. You make this look super easy and not complicated at all.
You got this!!!
I would love to get the additional info you mentioned at the end of the video. Thank you so much for explaining everything and not assuming everyone knows how to do additional steps. I bought your Cricut manual and printed it out because I am a slow learner and I’m still having a hard time.
Girl your not alone! :)
I just got Cricut Maker in Friday!! I’m excited
I love how you show things step by step. So easy to understand. Thank You so much for sharing. I just got my air2 and trying to figure things out. Watching so many videos where they are assuming that all lingo is known. I think that you have to take a little knowledge from each video.
Just beginning to use my new Cricut Explore Air 2 and I'm SO glad I found your video out of the gazillion Cricut tuts out there. You made it VERY simple to understand and wasted no time chatting about unnecessary nonsense. So, TY so much for creating and sharing this video tutorial. I'm about ready to click the "make it" button for my niece's graduation t-shirt, YAY!
❤️❤️❤️
I just bought a Maker and browsing the 100000's videos, yours are my favorite! You always give very detailed steps which are important to us newbies! Thank you! I'm using your code to support you!
Sherri Gerhardt 🥺🥺🥺 thank you!!!!!!! Means so much to me!
Mine too! You make it relatable but not complicated
THIS IS TOOCUTE LAUREN!!! APPRECIATE ALL YOUR VIDEOS! I LEARNED THE WINE GLASSES BY WATCHING YOU DO YOURS!
Thank you you did a great job explaining stuff!!! Better than the rest of the people on RUclips!!! Haters gonna hate... ignore them... you helped me with the letter sizing!!!!
Great Video Been Looking For A Video That’s A Step By Step And You Literally Have The Only One Thank You ❤️
Thank you so much!! This video is extremely helpful for us that just purchased both at the same time!
I'm a newbie with an explore air 2. I'm trying to make shirts for my 4 kids to put in their Easter baskets but, I want them to be able to wear them all year. Thank you so much for this detailed video. I've watched so many videos and still second guess myself!! You definitely have a new subscriber here!!!
Thank you so much! I love how clear you are and wasn't all over the place like some other videos. Thank you!!
The best and clear video 🌷
Thank you for the videos you make it seem so easy !!
Do you put a protective coating product over it when you are finished to protect the design when washed and dried?
Looks pretty easy. I’m a new owner of a cricut! Learning lots!
THANK YOU! I feel confident starting a project now!
I love your tutorials! They are quick and to the point, but very informative!
Thank you! You make it look so easy! I look forward to many more of your videos!!
“Don’t come for me” lmao that’s what made me subscribe. I like you! Video was very easy to follow. I can’t wait to get mine 😆
Great Video! I haven't purchased my Cricut yet but I'm so encouraged by your video. Thanks.
Best video I have found so far! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m new to your channel and just loved how easy you just explained this. I’m ready to buy me a machine now.
Love your sense of humor! 😅. And thank you for this video! I just got mine and ready to try it out!
I know this video is a year old, but I just wanted to say thank you. I can't wait to use my maker and heat press
Yay!!! I always love getting sweet comments regardless of how old the video is xoxo❤️❤️❤️
Great tutorial! Thanks so much - Wondering if you used a "Cricut" t-shirt and can I use this on any t-shirt (100% cotton). Does it make a difference?
Thank you for your easy to follow step by step tutorial.
I love the style of your videos, you do a great job explaining all the steps!
Omg I’m about to get my Cricut explore air 2 and this helped so much 😊 thank you for the detailed tutorial
Thanks i learned a lot
Your video was perfect !!!! I just did my first shirt with you !!! 🥰
Do you have a tutorial to where you show how to do both of them at once?? Like how you did the letters in green and the heart in black?! I had no idea you could do that!
It's fun to watch. I'm gonna buy my wife one of these these so I wanted to see what to get for making t-shirts. The press is a bit overkill if you ask me. 100 dollar freaking iron with a timer. But great video! I still have no idea what I'm after though...
Wish it was $100! Here in Canada they are $240+tax.
Tay! You are the best with the Cricut videos. How do we know when to use standard, light, or strong grip mats?
WoW! Such a great video. Thank you! thank you! thank you!
So much fun 💚💛
I am sorry, I missed how u switch the color, how did u switch to green ?
You explained very well. Thanks for sharing.🥰
THANK YOU!!!
Loved this video. I feel super inspired now
Love it. Going to grab my heat press right now (I have the cricut explore air2) you made it very easy to follow along!
Thanks so much
I have been watching videos all evening trying to figure out what I was doing wrong when trying to make shirts and I just realized from this video that some of the vinyls are iron on and some aren't. I feel dumb. Thanks for your video! Ready to make shirts now
Love your step by step I’m new at this thanks alot
So cute and you made it look so easy! Mine will be delivered tomorrow! Im soooo excited!
Thank you for clear instructions on making a Cricut shirt! :)
Thank you very much for all of your info..there is some spray adhesive called 505 that is not permanent to get more use of your mat. I do realize your video was 5 months ago and you probably have bought a new one by now
Very easy-to-follow tutorial. Thank you very much.
This video was the best video I’ve seen! Thank you 🙏🏻
this is the most help I have recieved - newbie here...thanks
How did you get the heart a different color and cut it separately?Did I miss that part???
She didn't really show it. 🤷🏾♀️
She put the green sheet on the sticky cutting board first and printed then added the black sheet and printed it. Then she cut out text and the heart and put on the shirt.
Wish u would’ve shown how u changed the colors
You have helped me tremendously!!!! I am new at this and would love to do specialty shirts. Thank you soooo very much!!!! I will be watching and probably seeking your advice.
Thank you for the detailed video :) 😊
Nice thanks for sharing
What is the specific vinyl paper you used??? Permanent or Removable cricut vinyl paper
Enjoyed the video. Thanks much!
What material t-shirt would you say holds the best?
When you decided to change the colors, did you go back a step and unweld the lettering and heart so they print separately? Or did you manage that in the last cut setting where you chose 1 and 2?????? PLEASE HELP!!! There are many of us that have the same question but can’t find the answer. Sorry for the newbie questions too!
You answered your own question. She change two colors, therefore it printed separately. I usually have to do a _trial and error_ on most of the tutorials.
This was super helpful! Thank you sooo much!
I did too!! So grateful! We are thinking about buying a Cricut
love the bloopers LOL
Thank you for this video so helpful......
Such a great video got everything I needed to learn on this one thank you so much 👍🏼
love the shirt. Did you have to unweld the image on order to print two different colors. How did you get Mom Life on 1 mat and the heart image on a 2nd mat.
thanks for your tutorial, however the most import information I was looking for isn't mentioned and that is how do you know or measure the size to make the logo for ironing on the shirts?
2
Pinterest has guide sheets for what sizes to use on what item you are ironing onto.
Hello! very helpful video! do the shirts have to be polyester??
Loved your tutorial Lauren
Thank you! I see that you didn’t use a heat pad or towel. No issues with that? I will start using parchment paper also! Thanks. Congrats to your sister!
Good tutorial but I have a question, if you welded together what do you press to have the letters separate. Sorry I’m new in this. Thanks
Judith, I have the same question! Do you have to go back a step and unweld the lettering and heart, or can you keep it grouped together?????
How did you change your heart to black and lettering to green? Did you have to go back and unweld?
Great video! Super helpful! Have you had experience with the HTV not lasting through washes? Any feedback on that?
Thank you for the great tutorial, do you have a link for the shirt?
Can you iron or do you need a pressing machine??
What brand of tshirt are you using?
great shirt and the video was great too but I have 1 ?. I'm a new user who is learning a lot :) and I'm doing t shirts and on the htv it has the square backing on it, do you remove this before cutting?
My cricut just came yesterday and so excited to start using it!! Love the videos!!
Also what size is the cricut easypress that you use?
I have the largest Easy Press 2!
Was that like a special t shirt brand?
Which cricut machine are you using?
Do you have a link to the t-shirt? It appeared to be non see through, nice quality.
I have played the video twice and I love it, but what kind of shirt do you use?
How do you know how big to make items when you are putting them on shirts?
Nice video, thanks!
How did you set up to have the heart and words on separate vinyl?
Thank u so much this helped a lot made my first one .. a bit to big now I gotta figure out how to make it fit on to a mask n get free Fonts lol
Is that heat presser good to use
What kind of Cricut do you use? Would like to know which one is best before I get one
Thank you ❤️
I love all your videos!🤗
