The way Gordon retains his guard is unbelievable
Saved his energy for when he needed it. Very nice.
Gaudio is more focused on proving points, physical imposition and 'breaking him'. Ryan appears to be focused on the game plan and working toward position. Its pretty amazing to watch these two great grapplers go at it and it be so close, but one never loses focus on the game he's working on. A sport psychologists teaching video for sure.
Yeh you can see theres a point around the 5:30 mark where Gaudio starts trying to take a few seconds to reset but Gordon doesnt give him the oppurtunity

both of gordons hooks weren't in only one was. therefore the 4 points were not given. At one point both hooks were in but the position was not secured for a long enough time to be given the points too.

As far as I know guard means defense, even though you can attack from there. The way I see, gaudio tried to pass all the time, defended well, but Gordon's half back take in the final moments was definitely decisive for the win

Because you have to do more than just take someone down, you have to control them on the ground for a couple seconds. If someone falls and gets right back up it's not worth anything.

Allan Pang It was a sweep for 2 points because gordon was on the bottom, he went for the leg attack the opponent went on his butt then gordon came up for the top position. you get points for a sweep in tournament if you’re on the bottom and you came on top and your opponent went to the bottom. It doesnt have to be a traditional sweep you learn from your instructor. it could be anything, even if your opponent decides to sit down on their butt or try to pull guard and you somehow got up from your butt to get the top position you’ll get 2 points for sweep.

It is covered in Garry Tonon's Shoot To Kill Dvd. It is about catching the leg when it is moving and weightless, either with a foot sweep or with your knee on the outher thigh. Really good Dvd I highly recommend it.

Gordon was in butterfly guard, then changed to the inside sankaku and got up, P. Gaudio ended up in botton position, thats why Gordon got 2 points. Right after it P. Gaudio stands up and get the takedown and got 2 points.
