    Lebanese here! You nailed this trend. Labneh, veggies and zaatar on crispy flat bread. We add fresh mint and black olives to the mix too. Sahten

    You’d be surprised!!! It is called “aroosa” which literally translates into “bride” in English, this type of breakfast sandwich is famous in the levant area i.e. (jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Syria)

    Most za’atar already contains sumac. Not that u shouldn’t add extra! Middle eastern grocery stores have better za’atar than American. American version leaves u hangin!

    Sumac and zataar are two of my "secret ingredients" for everything 😂. Especially sumac. That stuff is great in just about every single food dish, EXCEPT dishes where you don't want any red color, because it will give food a red hue. 😊

    • @heythere1115
      @heythere1115 2 месяца назад +13

      Not a rock, this just reflects your own culture. They are very popular spices in countries outside of America, Britain and it’s former colonies. And popular in America if you have ties to other countries or traditions not normally found in an “American”home if you get my drift. But eating and cooking can be a great way to learn about others that are not you and your family!

    • @memonos

      It’s more of a zattar cracker because manakeish/ manaeesh/ makosha is soft and the toppings/stuffing is minimal like Kashkaval or akawai cheese, labnah with zattar or honey, or zattar by itself or meat
