  • You don’t need to spend $50,000 to have a legit overland SUV you can off-road in all day and sleep in at night. You don’t even need to drop $10,000. I’m effectively $5,000 into my 1998 Mitsubishi Montero so far; here’s how Andrew Collins, our resident Baja Enthusiast, got this budget-friendly rig set up without sacrificing too much comfort or safety.

    Little bit of money, little bit of skills, willingness and creativity, that’s what I’ve just found here. Sunrise is beautiful, cheers.

    You can fold up the three rows and converted to a confy bed. Tead the owners manual. For storage you can use a roof rack or a hitch rack.

    I've got the 2.8 litres turbo diesel same chassis and It costed 5900 euros with 200.000 kms... so it was genial. So cheap, quite reliable not much powerful but enough to enjoy it!

      i am in England, i have the same, although mine is called a Pajero cos its Japan import speck (UK spec is called Shogun). Quite a bit of power and torque from the 2.8 TD engine compared to other stuff i have had, like the 3.1 Trooper

    • @ElijahDecker
      @ElijahDecker 2 года назад +1

      You can shim the waste gate on the tubro and turn up the fuel on the VE pump to wake up those 2.8L engines. Highly advised to install an EGT gauge though so you can avoid overdoing it and melting a piston.

    Got job man. I got the 1994 2.8 diesel model with more than 230000 miles on it. I'm thinking converting it into camper. Keep up 💯👌

    Why not take out the second row of seating also?
    Less weight ...you could end up with more head room.
    YOu can always put it back in again

      @@swpdisciple you wouldn't need the platform anymore.....you could store stuff where the seats were taken out and put your bed on top of that.
      It is stupid to have seats in a vehicle.... if they are not being used....use it for storage instead!

      Those koreans are smart a.f.
      They did not put a large wheel on the back because then it would be as high as a Lorry, They put two small wheels side by side so it has a low load height, so it really is 6x6 the rear axle pushes 4 wheels
