Wonderful - thanks for your feedback!
It's been a while since I posted some beginner-focused material and so I'm very glad to hear it's useful.
When we are just starting out with jazz piano, it takes a little time to become accustomed to the '3-note spread voicing technique' (chapter 3) where we voice the chord tones over both hands. This really is the foundation for playing from lead sheets so be patient and diligent with this. Spend just 10 or 15 mins practice time each day on this technique, and in the space of a few weeks you will be much more comfortable and confident with harmonising lead sheets.
I recommend to study the first 8 bars for the moment to laser focus your practice time, and most importantly 'dip your toes' into the more advanced voicings covered in the final chapter just to get a taste for what lies ahead in your jazz piano journey.
      Enjoy and talk soon!

THANK YOU! I am not a jazz player but interested in learning exactly this sort of thing (understanding the chords, melody, etc). I had been looking all over youtube for something that breaks it down like this. I'm so glad I found this and wanted to let you know how much it is appreciated. I know some will think it's too basic, but fnewa newbie trying to get a grasp of the fundamentals, it is priceless! Great job! 🎉🫡

I'm a beginner, and even though this is beyond my ability, it's inspiring to see what is possible with the many different ways of playing accompaniments and chord inversions. I love the richness of 7th chords.
