I love manual transmissions and daily drive an MX-5 myself, but in modern vehicles, automatic transmissions are almost universally more efficient because they communicate with the engine, so they know the exact load and the needed gear, they typically have more gears, and they shift faster. While you are correct about reliability and ease of repair, the claim that manual transmissions are functionally better is a myth that needs to stop being pushed.

Everything is nice but the photographer...I have watched a series of these test drives. The handling of the camera and jumping from tele to wide is simply hysterical. Take it easy and gradually.
Half of these comments, crying about how he’s reviewing buses now and trashing on how the Bus looks and the other half thinking that manual is a lot better than automatic, which is untrue by the way. I’ll take automatic over manual even if it makes me lazy because at least I won’t stall.😂 I swear these comments are just hilarious It’s quite obvious you people have never been on buses like that and I can see why, such crybabies maybe instead of judging it maybe you should ride one before judging😂

Here in PH, we call it yutong c8 or c9 since the whole body is identical. It uses Yuchai engine though

D simply means that he is driving. He is not in neutral. D on dashboard doesn't make a car/bus automatic.
