As a vegan for over 20 years I agree...When I began though "plant based" was not a catch phrase. When the Beyond brand and others like Quoa, etc... I never tried began showing up I had no desire and I am and have been a label reader since before I became vegan so I avoided a lot of fake overly processed food anyway. Some of the plant based foods have extremely high sodium content also I don't want that. I do eat tofu but ALWAYS organic.
There is a newer brand of vegan butter cream cheese, etc. I like a lot though and it seems better than others though would be interested in your opinion...the brand is called MIYOKO's. The spreadable margarine with oat milk does have organic high oleic sunflower oil though which I have read varying reviews on. I just started viewing your channel...I will go through and scan the topics to see if you cover this organic high oleic sunflower oil for what you may share in regards to this. The sticks of MIYOKO's butter do not have the sunflower oil (and cashew milk) but organic coconut oil and taste better than the oat milk margarine in my opinion. (Some Kite Hill...yes just tried it).

I agree that processed imitation foods are just marginally better than non-plant based processed foods. However, soy is one of the healthiest foods around and is backed by multitude of studies going back decades. Having omega-6 does not automatically make a food bad for you and you. It being a mono-crop is neither here nor there. The vast vast majority of crops are grown for animal consumption and very little soy for human consumption. The entire drought in the west wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for animal feed and watering being done in those areas. At any rate, no one should be trying to reduce their soy unless they enjoy cancer are hoping to not improve their health.

Perhaps you can explain why you say soy is so bad for you, but the average Japanese eats 13.5 pounds a year, or 0.59 ounces a day, of soy, according to their Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and are the longest living people in the world. They also import a LOT of that from the US.
