  • In rare cases Shoretel switches can get locked up and appear bricked or broken. Here is a brief low risk method of forcing values into a switch without wiping its cache out. All though this may not work for everyone this has helped myself often.
    This will shows how to edit a shoretel switch that may be unresponsive or appear bricked by editing the values that are set in vxworks

      It's hard to say what is causing that issue. I would try clearing all values and re-entering the IP and the server values.
      - During the boot hit any key to break the boot
      - At the prompt screen type bootc clean EXAMPLE: (=>bootc clean)
      - Then set the IP (=>ipaddr x.x.x.x)
      - Then set the server value (=>serverip x.x.x.x)
      - Then set the boot parameter to:( =>bootc vxworks flash static) or (=>bootc linux flash static) if the switch is a v switch
      - Type saveenv
      - Then type boot
      maybe this will fix and sometimes it takes a few attempts at the same process.
