You might want to try or start practicing when you downshift to match your engine revs with your downshifting that's hard on a transmission and the motor.😂🤣😭😢
You might want to put in some research before you embarrass yourself with a comment like that.
It doesn't have clutch
@@tinoroguljic3204 Of course this bike has a clutch (unlike the Africa Twin with DCT for example). You can see him using the clutch in the roundabout. Also bikes with DCT have some additional controls for parking mode, handbrake (where the clutch usually is) and manual shifting.
To the comment and video: he uses the quickshifter for up- (and blipper for down-) shifting - so rev matching is completely unnecessary.
No rev matching as in quickshifter pro…?
I love that this is pinned
Damn I didn't expect this bike to actually sound like a Porsche 911
thanks
I have one, and yes, it sounds exactly like a 911.
185 / 5 000
The whistle of the 6-cylinder in-line is still just as pleasurable in the revs. The low-sounding rumblings seem to be missing when the throttle is frankly cut off. I will keep my 2018 :-)
To me sounds like e36 m3 😉
@@Killswitch-ON i suppose 6 cylinder engine with same firing order sound similar
*ENJOY!*
Wish me luck, guys! I finally caught the virus as well and now I'm hoping it won't get too bad. Because quarantine means time for editing RAWs ;)
Wish you a speedy recovery!
@@samuel97silva thanks a lot Samuel!
Hope you're doing well!
May you have a fast recovering Schaaf!!
Hope you will get well soon!
You played that 6 cilinder beautifully, Maestro!
Thanks a lot Bas!!
Beautiful sound and powerful each time you turn the accelerator. It's so easy to fall in love with this beast....thanks for the video Schaaf!!
Thanks for the comment, David!!
When I FIRST saw one of your videos, I thought you were a bit of a maniac. ;) Then after seeing the types of videos listed on your page, I realized that's just how you ride EVERY bike. And you're a very skilled rider. So now, I'm rather addicted to your videos! hahahaha I've been watching so many of them, even tho I know I'll never own the bikes in question. It's fun to see how hard a bike CAN be ridden, even if 99% of the viewers here will never get close to the level at which you're riding.
I think you provide the BEST POV onboard videos here on youtube!! Great sound, riding, and video. Thanks for the great content!!
thanks a lot for the nice comment mate
Different strokes for different folks... If your top priority is "rocking chair" then the Goldwing is for you. But, if Sport Touring long trips are your priority the K1600GT is #1. I've got over 95,000 miles on a GT and have loved every minute!
Nice!
I agree Duane I’ve ran mine for the last 5 years covered 19 countries and it never fails to put a grin on my face. Loaded or unloaded she pulls like a beast always.
May I ask you about valve clearance check intervals? When did you need to actually adjust them?
@@bmt4103 normally 18k intervals but if she feels off in anyway then I check them out just incase but normally every 18k miles
I own a GTL and the only time I see a Goldwing is in my rear view mirror.
Excellent demonstration of that beautiful 6cycl beast of a motor! I love how it rumbles off the higher RPM range and how the motor doesn't seem to protest at all during your 6th gear demonstration. Well done and executed Sir!
thanks for watching the whole thing!!
Very intresting notes and honest review!
Beautifull engine (K1300 as well) with the advantage of huge torque!
Lovely riding style Schaaf👏
Wish u a speed recovery (you are too fast for this virus😁😎)
Thanks Dimitris!!
Beautiful... I can imagine what it would sound like on the overrun with a nice set of pipes
Get well soon, buddy ❤️
Cheers!
thanks a lot Rangan!
Yea, this bike with pipes and no luggage/as light as possible..would love it.
It would feel like riding a beast.
( it is a beast as it is )
Wow!!! Fantastic vid!! What an awesome bike. Great riding too Schaaf 💪🏼💪🏼
Thanks
That’s a man who knows how to enjoy a bike…..amazing sound, very like a triple. Good luck with the recovery. Great vid 👍
thanks Stephen
Very like two triples!
Thanks. I enjoyed this virtual ride out on the BMW. The course at this speed is tricky to say the least though it gives a lot of pleasure when you get your breath back.
Thanks Bob
always a pleasure watching your videos sir. You're a very skilled rider
Thanks
I love this paint scheme!
I too, have got a Hello from the virus a few months back ;)
I wish you a speedy recovery, man! Stay healthy!
Thanks a lot mate
To each his own I guess. I tried out the Goldwing before buying my K16GTL and to me the BMW was the hands-down winner in every category. Only exception is the stereo. But since I use Sena exclusively, the bike speakers don’t really mean anything to me.
yup
The 2022 has an improved stereo.
My 2c on that is to try Cardo for sound quality! At the mid to high end models their speakers are far better :) just in case you hadn’t thought of it.
@@Schaaf yup… 🤣🤣🤣… you can’t take any constructive criticism whatsoever mate. If you’re going to post videos on a public platform, you’ve got to expect some criticism. Get over yourself bud
I agree totally!!
I own and drive a K1600 GTL.
It’s a super bike. A real sports tourer.
Comfortable ,very road worthy and agile.
👍😊😃
No words needed!! Best motorcycle review ever!!
thanks
Schaaf you are a legend. Only you could make this monster sing with it's pegs down!!
Thanks ;) I'm afraid on this very road this is not that special though. The tarmac is racetrack - like ;)
Another good ASMR for sleep. Hope you will recover soon, Schaaf
thanks a lot mate
Excelente!!! Como siempre muy buenos vídeos, saludos desde Bogotá Colombia 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
Gracias Hugo
formula one love the 6 cylinder sound! Great video as always Schaaf
Thanks mate
Nice to see someone who knows what he is doing and taking proper lines while riding fast like that. Good video
thanks for noticing
@@Schaaf You notice these things when you know how to ride properly. I see a lot of videos and I cringe on how some people ride in the Twisties. Ride safe and enjoy.
Well I just took delivery of the Gt. Same color. I have owned several BMWs. I transitioned front an R1250 RT. This bike is by far the most fun I’ve had so far. All BMW radio sucks. But the bike is awesome. Thanks for sharing the video
Nice, congrats!
Yunquera Road, southern Spain (Malaga) a pleasure to see this video and Mr Schaaf riding Here
one of the best roads out there
Great vid mate..you almost convince me to buy one…almost🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Go for it!
I’m 6’5” and I solved the wind buffeting problem on my GTL with an aftermarket 7Jurok windscreen. Love your riding through the twisties!
good to know!
Schaaf ist wie immer der beste 😃
Danke!
Great ride, great bike, great view. Sound...ok...if I ever want a bike sounding like a car (eg. the old M3 from the 80's), i'll might get this one
thanks
Beautifully shot video. Can I ask what your gopro settings were? And did you use ND filter? Also what are you using to capture audio. Just experimenting with manual control on mine now.
I’ve been waiting for this!!! Woo-hoo!!
Thanks!!
that sound... that look
I loved it!!!
thanks
I just rode this thing at a demo day today. It doesn't feel like a motorcycle, its somehow a car on two wheels!!! It's ridiculously smooth!!
Thanks
Amazing video ! I own a 1250 GS Adventure HP and just ordered this 1600 GT to get the power I miss and some good racing sound. Best regards from Spain ^ ^
amazing!! Congrats!
I have a GT with The Akras sounds slightly more robust, but that was a hell of a ride, I couldn't do that until I had a few passes to learn that road. Kudos
I had more than a few ;)
Schaaf, I wish you get well. If you have time in the future I will kindly suggest you to ride in the same road with you drove goldwing. The road in this record seems having too many sharpen curves and K1600 is heavy bike. I had both GW and GTL, I honestly expected that GT will make you more happy especially in terms of performance. Thanks for sharing, best wishes!
Thanks Semih. Unfortunately this run in Spain was the only chance I had to ride the K1600.
Pity about the bike but i loved your riding. I got quite a buzz off that so thanks for the fun. As ever, take care and speed safe. 😆👍
Thanks a lot Jezza
Guade Besserung! Ich muss so lachen, vorhin erst hab ich im BMW Konfigurator rumgespielt und jetzt seh ich das hier :D
Gutes Timing!! ;) Dank dir!
Un essai comme on aime!
Merci!
De rien
I have one and it has loads more clearance in the turns thanks something like a Goldwing. If you also add some body positioning, you can actually drag knee on this bike. It’s a monster. With the telelever front end, you can actually push so hard on the front tire you can feel when it starts to push when you’re on the absolute limit. I ride it around the twisties in and around Tail of the Dragon and very sport bikes can keep up.
Wow. I would like to ride/learn to ride like that.
( Goes to cycle trader to find out how much it costs, expecting to get get disappointed by pricing..continues to dream..maybe someday.. )
@@umakantgajjewar8898 I got my 2015 in 2020 with 1500 miles for $15k. My ZX14r would be more fun but it’s a 3 hour drive to the Smoky’s and I find it hard to do more than 5 hours on that. I have a GS but it’s not nearly as fun on-road. This bike can easily keep you in the saddle 10-12 hours and you can still rip it when you arrive at the twisties.
Awesome! Thanks!
There is something magical about motorcycle engines with cylinders in 3 or 6 arrangements. To my ears it is hard to beat the sound of a triple but these opposed 6's are a close 2nd! Best sounding modern BMW in my opinion!
thanks!
Opposed 6‘s? It’s an in-line 6
Son 6 en linea.
Nice ride. I love your videos. When i test the k I felt really uncomfortable, don't know why. I went to a Honda dealer and wait for a gold to test. Finally, I got the goldwing. The bagger one. I love it, it is not así sporty as the k, but it is really easy and comfortable to ride. Vssss
Great choice!
14 minutes of pure joy.
Thanks a lot
Awesome video! Thank you. Do those (down)shifts sound so clunky is person as well, or is it only in the video? It isn't a very a pleasing sound to hear😅
@C-3PO yes unfortunately they sound like that in real life. But you can hear it much less distinctively since in the real world there's a lot of wind noise going on :)
Sounds great and goes well
Thanks
Wow, the feeling of riding that monster must be pretty darn good!
It is!
But at this rate, you smoke the rear tire in 3000km...
The downshifting sound of gears disturbed my ears while enjoying the pure six cylinders sound.
blame the quickshifter
Amazing video Schaaf !
What are your thoughts on the heat from this engine ?
Not an issue at all!
i like the new "description" talk :)
Thanks Ercan
Very good sound
Thanks
Thank you too!
Great video as always 🏍👍,in places the gearbox sounds really clunky?, you would think the wind protection would be awesome on such a bike. Have you rode the 2021/22 Aprilia Tuono I can’t seem to find it would love your opinion on it as just brought one here in the UK & you ride a lot harder than I do ,keep up the great work Schaaf 🏍🏍🎉🎉👍👍
Unfortunately just the 2019 model
@@Schaaf thanks probably no real difference apart from mine has Olins 2 suspension ,I’ll watch your video .keep up the great work 🏍🏍🎉👍👍
Stupenda. Bellissima. Un saluto dall Italia 🇮🇹
grazie
Its easy, I see a video by Schaaf I press like.

I never thought id like these old mans bikes but I tested one, it was mega, picked one up should be here in a week or two adding it to my multi v4s
congratulations!!
@@Schaaf thank you

What a sound !!

Klingt so stark wie zwei Dreizylinder ;)
Oh my god this is a beast!!!!!!
Thanks
You triple the speed limit: BRAVO !!!
quadrupled, actually
I want this, but i was pushing my budget when i got the 1250gsa last year, this is so damn expensive! Great vid!
Guuuud. Very Guuud.
Wünsche schnelle Genesung!
Besten Dank!
wow like a race bike :)
such a beautiful machine
indeed
Hi Schaaf from South Africa 🇿🇦. Get well soon, buddy 👍🏼.
Did you ride the outgoing model? I have a 22 model, one of the last GT just before this face lifted one was released. Wondering how different the actual ride is?
Love your videos....
thanks man. I only rode the newest version, sorry
Made me miss my old k1200 GT. Way to work it.
thanks
After listening to this, I feel like I need it.
:)
Love the scrape at 1:41 and again. Jerry Palladino would be proud!
Thanks
Smooth fast giant.
Cheers.
Thanks mate!
Sounds awesome to see the bike getting chucked about and the quick shifter seems a bit notched to the gear change,,but WOW that's one great motorcycle ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
Thanks!
Extraordinario,, el mejor!!
gracias
I rode one of these in bagger form at a BMW test ride event. I have an S1000R and a KTM 1190 now, but I can’t get the image of trading them in for one of these out of my head. This motor is pure joy to ride slow, and pure giggles to wring out. I’m also old, so maybe that’s my problem.
Why not :D
bellissimo !!!!
Thanks :)
Sick!
Thanks Erik
Oh My God.. i was checking about this bike as I am shifting from Kawasaki ZX14r to something like BMW K1600 or Goldwing. This is stock sound of this bike?? With Akrapovic slip-on, the sound of this beast will be mindblowing. Decided after watching video.. thanks a ton..
Good choice
Raumschiff Enterprise goes wild!
tehehehe danke, Markus!!
Nice 👌
Thanks for the nice video Schaaf!
How is the gearbox ? I had 2 BMs in the past (1200rt and 1300gt, but it was in the pre-shifter era) and hated their gearboxes (slow and ‘klonk’) even if great bikes otherwise. Has BMW learned since to provide gearboxes in line with the price of their bikes ?
They sure have improved a lot, yes.
You were using the wrong type of oil
Everybody knows bmw gearboxes are rough and clunky no matter what oil you use, in this video also you can hear how bad the gearbox sounds in the lower gears when downshifting.
Geartbox sounds a bit, but the shifter is a must have since 2018 at least, from 1-2 to 5-6 up and down.
K1600 😍❤️👍
Thanks
What a bike!
thanks
Sublime!
thanks
Hey Schaaf,, beautiful reviews
Wondering if you can please give us a good review on V-Strom 650
Thank you
Thanks. But unfortunately ruclips.net/video/A_lVU5NGIUY/видео.html
However I can tell you the 650 Strom is absolutely amazing
Need very good skills to ride a boat with wheels! Nice work here man!
thanks man
Slipper clutch working super hard 😂😂
lol
I think this bike is great mine gets here from Germany in 2 weeks can't wait to get it
Awesome!
…tolles Video.
Besten Dank, Ralf ;)
I’m (only) 30 years old, I used to ride daytona675… R1 … shits like that.
after having test this k1600gt I gonna buy one for long trips. It’s a really really good bike !
✌️
Nice!!
Just bought one. Looking forward to my first big trip. Learning how to manage the power.
Hope you enjoy it!
I really like the upgraded (bigger) display.
me too!
How fast do you reckon this thing could go if we theoretically stripped down its weight.removed the fairings, luggage holders and bunch of other stuff.
Has any youtuber done something like this b4 on a k1600?
still a beast in its stock form with 240kph top speed potential.a 100kg weight reduction would be crazy on a 6 cylinder bike.
One of my favorite roads, I love to go there, is very well known to all bikers from the south of Spain
no wonder! It is absolutely amazing to ride!
Einfach Geil👍
Danke!
Well ridden sir.
Thanks

Somewhere in the top end it sounds like a Porsche 3.6 flat six, hope u have recovered schaaf
not yet but thanks
I agree with you on the gold wing mate. I had the bagger for a week and it was awesome! Left the K16 in the shade.. in fact in nearly brought one…almost!🥴
thanks Ben
Imagine this in a naked chassis… if only bmw snorted more coke for once and give us the ultimate naked
hahaha oh yea that would be amazing indeed
@@Schaaf ruclips.net/video/XJI7x4DzL_4/видео.html
@@srhaugen that video is the reason why i would consider a K1600GT.
I come from an RT1250 (and 1200 before that) now i have the same model and colour (i’ve ridden it for 23.000km) and i’m totally agree with you. This is a beautiful and funny bike, but if you want the definitive one on the road, the RT is better. I’m curious for the GW. Which do you prefer? (apart from sportiness).
GW. It feels more special to ride. The GW is an icon, the 1600 beemer a cool bike
First of all, I really liked your video. Compared to the Goldwing Bagger DCT 2022, what are the differences between them, which one has better driving performance?
I never rode the bagger just the big Touring version of the GW
