Fun fact to add. When Japan reintroduced carriers into the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, one of names they choose was Kaga. Sadly though the other carrier is not named Akagi.

@@necodriver1419 mate crusiers can carry easily rhe definition of derp gun in game the single 152mm that does at tier 3 at worst rarity 22x3 damage with an above average reload time however the epic version is just broken 30x3 at equal reload time as the tripple 152mm and tripple 150mm

Something I find amusing is that The movie Midway that came out on the 6th of November focuses on the destruction of akagi and kaga, and just a couple of weeks before, both of them were found.

I was actually strongly urging my friends who played and/or cosplayed from "Azur Lane" to see the film when it premiered in theaters. Having seen "Battle 360" myself, I was glad to see how many important real-life moments were shown in the film, such as Bruno Gaido's heroism and tragic fate as well as the clever intelligence ploy Rochefort used to trick the Japanese into confirming that "AF" was Midway Atoll.

I noticed a trend in the game where one of the fox girls is easy to get but the remaining one is difficult to get. I got Akagi quickly but it took awhile to get Kaga.
The name Kaga was actually given another life now serving the (less imperial) navy of Japan as an Izumo-class light carrier, JS Kaga

I felt "increased joy" when I finally got her after 2 akagi copies drop from the fox mines
For me, I cant say that she and Akagi are sisters and even half-sisters.. You can classify two ships as sister-ships if they are almost identical to each other,but some alterations in terms of physical appearance or superstructure design.. Example are: Prinz Eugen and Admiral Hipper have different funnel design and Yorktown Sisters have different Island structure design but they do have a same Island position...
Unlike Akagi and Kaga, their both converted into CVs but their original ship class design was different. Kaga was a supposed to be a Tosa class BATTLESHIP while Akagi came from Amagi class which was a BATTLECRUISER.. And their Island are way opposite to each other, Kaga's Island was on the Starboard side and Akagi's Island was on her Port side..
These two foxes are not related to each other, not even can say that they are halfsisters, but they are 2 different ships
6th fact: Her supposed to be Battleship version is actually available in the game, but limited time only. Her design does not much change (done by same artist), but her personality change a bit, more to big sister persona.

Got Kaga as a drop from the hard mode. Hard mode or not, at least it'll give me an excuse to pull an overly cautious hero on this before I can move on to the next chapter. Got to complete the Yorktown sisters collection along the way.

As for my favorite, its hard to pick, they're both great although i may lean towards Kaga's design as i really like the White and Blue theme.
It's also fun when you're reading up on the histories of the real-life ships only to discover that this one assaulted your hometown and could have prevented your existence in doing so. (My family comes from Shanghai; Kaga was a major participant in an attack on the city in the 1930s, when my grandparents were less than ten years old.) I now like to joke about having a grudge against her.
After nearly a year of playing, only Kaga was found in the foxmines (twice!). I have her BB version as well.
To me, she's the superior Fox Sister for that alone.

Fun fact: The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force recently commissioned a light aircraft carrier by the name of "Kaga". It has conducted numerous Freedom of Navigation patrols in the South China Sea and is slated to get an air wing of 21 F-35B stealth fighters.
Correction: She USED TO BE THE PVP META along with Akagi before Amagi and Hiryuu Retrofit came out. Now no one fears the Fox Sisters anymore since Amagi's insane skills and Hiryuu's "try to kill me within 15 seconds" outclasses them. They are now in fact free win for someone doing Fleet Admiral ranking regularly as long as the attacking player is using the NaMarYuu backline.
Well, to be fair, NaMaRyū outclasses pretty much everything in PvP, no exception.

I want to say it took me almost a year to get them both to drop in 3-4. Aka "foxmines".

One quick nit pick. There is NO question as to Kaga being a Tosa class battleship as designed. She and Tosa were built to a battleship design meant to be an improved Nagato class with an extra turret while maintaining the 26kt top speed. The Amagi class battlecruisers were designed to trade some armor for an increased speed of 28-30kts and were also longer to be able to make that increased speed (in water, short and fat makes you turn better, but have a slower top speed, long and skinny makes you faster, but less maneuverable). At best they were half-sisters being of similar design, but modified to suit the intended role. I still consider them to be of the Nagato family of designs, which goes all the way up the #13 class, which would have had 8 18" guns (not the same ones as Yamato, those being of later design), basically a super-Nagato.

Actually, there were a lot of documents held by other countries. Tosa-class Battleships were Dreadnoughts and consisted of two ships, Tosa and Kaga, that would be accompanied by four Amagi-class Battlecruisers. These ships were the Amagi, Akagi, Atago, and Takao with all four being successors to the Kongo-class Battlecruiser, later reconstructred as Fast Battleships. This was standard Japanese practice at the time and in addition to these six ships, the Japanese had plans for four Kii-class Fast Battleships and four more Number 13 Battleships, class was unnamed.
The Number 13 ships would have been the first to mount 18 inch guns in the Imperial Japanese Navy and been nearly as big as the Yamato-class Battleships.
These ships were all part of the Eight-Eight Fleet Program, which had been previously started with the Fuso-class, but due to defects and a rapid change in technology, the plan was restarted with the Nagato-class as the No.1 Ship of the Eight-Eight Plan. Which is where you get the 16 Ships, though as has been highlighted, the Japanese, had the plans gone uninterrupted, would have had an Eight-Eight-Eight Fleet consisting of the Fuso-class, Ise-class, Kongo-class, Nagato-class, Tosa-class, Amagi-class, Kii-class, and the Number 13 Battleships.
A total of 24 Capital Ships, just eight ships short of the US Navy's authorized 32 Capital ships, though both Japan and America would have built more given that the US Navy was actually authorized up to 44 Capital Ships. Though that would have meant parting with the Pre-Dreadnoughts in US Navy service, but an entire class of those ships had a massive defect due to the Ship Design and Ordnance Bureaus being out of step with one another.
So the US Navy would have replaced them and were actually planning on it, so Japan would have been following suit to keep close.
In hindsight, the Washington Naval Treaty now makes some sense and Yamamoto's firm belief that the Washington Naval Treaty did more to protect Japan than anything Japan could muster.
*In the first entry of this video, there is no such thing as "Kaga-class", because she is "Tosa-Class" Battleship-turned Carrier, considering that Kaga was almost scrapped after her lead sister Tosa was sunk as testing platform to test the new gun that will subsequently being used by the Yamato.
That of course until Amagi, the lead sister of Akagi (also present in the game in certain events depicted originally in her configuration as Battlecruiser), "Fell sick" during her conversion from battlecruiser to carrier (refer to Kanto earthquake of 1923). subsequently Kaga was slated to replace the terribly ill Amagi, hence the "false" sister to Akagi, Kaga.
Kaga and Akagi had differences that had an effect on them operationally. Akagi is faster by a couple of knots, and has a narrower width. Kaga carried an extra chotai (squadron) of aircraft and was better armored.
For some reason Kaga always seemed more level headed to me than Akagi

They actually found Kaga a couple weeks ago near Midway.
I got both after 3 months of grinding but not nonstop. Kaga was lv 82 when i got akagi just day before yesterday.

On your question, I guess I'd have to say I prefer Kaga to Akagi in Azur Lane personality-wise, and vice-versa for Kantai Collection (not a big fan of yanderes).

Tosa class Tosa were used as a target ship to test her armor.
Tosa class Kaga were rebuilt as the carrier Kaga we know.
Amagi class Amagi were scrapped after an earthquake damaged her hull.
Amagi class Akagi were rebuilt as the carrier Akagi we know.
Prinz Eugen is the best character in the entire anime, there is no room to disagree

I dont think Hornet was part of the battle of Midway with Enterprise and Yorktown; as Yorktown was sunk by the Japanese while Enterprise was still active, albeit damaged, but Hornet's demised was at Santa Cruz after the 'Doolittle Raid' on Japan.
The hornet was there at midway if I remember it was hornet’s torpedo squadron that found the pair
@@Kestrel-ws3cg Not how the historical records shows, it was a squadron from Enterprise that found the carriers via a lone destroyer, Wikipedia(not great source) Historyofwar(good source) or any books, and the movies; really it was mostly Enty and York against Akagi, Kaga, Soryuu, and Huryuu??, of course thats how the story goes.
@@silversnow3171 Torpedo 8 from Hornet found the carriers but were annihilated in their attack on them. The Hornet's dive bombers got lost and turned back before they ran dry on fuel. Enterprise and Yorktown's bombers both arrived as the Zero fighter cover was still scattered from dealing with the torpedo bomber attack and found a clear path to their targets. Enterprise's bombers did find the carriers by following the Arashi back to the Japanese fleet.
@@AISEGRIM06 For the sake of discourse lets say Hornet is there at the battle of Midway, couldn't they have strategically placed Hornet near Yorktown to provided air coverage around her? Seems like Yorktown could've been saved from Huryuu air group, but then again she would still be sunk from the I-168 after dark.
